The plan is to have KP play the Pau Gasol role. Start at PF, move over to C to close. With the 3 point shooting and youth we don't really see it yet, but when he plays in the post like he did in the 2nd half, we see why he's such a lethal match up at PF. I trust Rambis is going to work with him on this. You saw Rambis yank him out right away when he let his man get an easy look and then in the 2nd half you barely saw him give up those kind of plays to the smaller guys again. I don't care if Wall is making plays on him isolations. That's part of the game plan. We switch on everything.

What we need is a point guard that can hold his own a bit on defense such that we won't always be asking Porzingis or Lopez to be out of position to defend the 3 point line - because they are trying to stop Jose's man from getting a layup.

If his feet are set he can defend almost any position. It's that when he has to run and then defend, he gets in major trouble. What teams are doing is getting Porzingis off the ball.

On D, he thinks like a 5...the guy just wants to block shots.

He got lost at times because he is always looking inside to help. If you are guarding a Dudley type of player who can hit the 3, this is a recipe for disaster. Also means that when he runs out to block a 3pt attempt, he can be more easily fooled with a pump-fake...leads to fouls or easy baskets off a drive. I bring this up a lot when I'm doing game posts...drives me crazy, but it is something that can be worked on.

Do you even watch these games anymore? Since it seems you dont let me help. Here is why are doing terrible to start games.

11:23 Porzingis 3pt Shot: Missed
10:30 Anthony Turnover : Bad Pass (1 TO) Steal:Dudley (1 ST)
09:59 Afflalo Fadeaway Jump Shot: Missed
09:41 Anthony Jump Shot: Missed
08:07 Calderon Turnover : Bad Pass (1 TO) Steal:Porter Jr. (1 ST)
07:34 Calderon 3pt Shot: Missed
07:29 Calderon 3pt Shot: Missed
05:47 Porzingis Turnover : Out of Bounds Lost Ball Turnover (1 TO)
05:24 Anthony Jump Shot: Missed
04:49 Porzingis Turnover : Lost Ball (2 TO) Steal:Dudley (2 ST)
04:27 Porzingis 3pt Shot: Missed
03:16 Thomas Jump Shot: Missed
03:03 Galloway Pullup Jump shot: Missed
02:49 Thomas Jump Shot: Missed
02:07 Seraphin Turnaround Jump Shot: Missed

At this point KP is out of the game and the score is 31-17

Sorry Briggs... but your observation is not accurate.

Now a fair question would be why is KP shooting 3s in the first qtr instead of establishing post position against a player 10 inches shorter than he is?

KP at the five is just your self serving dose of Lopez hate for the day.

He struggles to guard perimeter players playing the 4. And will soon learn to kill them in the post. Nothing unexpected here.

Bloom is obviously off the rose but dont let the pendulum swing too far the other way. The early hype was overboard but the kid can still be an impactful player on both ends given time and further development. Got develop a post game and make teams pay for mismatches. Still has great feet for a big on D that helps team D even when matchup is scoring. A plus player but too much expected too soon
