“No. Disappointed in what?” Fisher asked. “We’re a developing team with a ton of new players. There are not a lot of elite teams that are depending on rookies to carry the day. So … We have to be reasonable about who we are and where we are and accept what is and not get caught up in what we should be and allow other people to define what our success is.”

Do you actually think the vets want to hear that type of talk?????

Tyson bailed out two years ago when he heard something similar. That quote isn't the damning one though.

The focus on the process is more important than the result

Yes, our coach actually said this.

Tyson bailed the previous year when he was destroyed in the playoffs and then 'called out' his teammates. He spent the following year backstabbing Woodson and trying to get him fired. How is his team leader act playing out in Phoenix?

Woodson was a dead man walking, everyone knew it...nobody ran to his aid. What Tyson is doing in Phx has no effect here. Yeah Hibbert took his lunch, he admitted so, came back played well to start, then broke his leg. When the team was healthy towards the end...they made a run WITH Tyson.

Once the season was over, word had it the team wasn't gonna try to contend, Tyson wanted out, and that is perfectly understandable. A vet on his last year wanting to be part of a rebuild is rare.

Tyson wasn't on his last year and he was supposed to be the vet with the championship pedigree that brought leadership to the locker room and on the court. He was getting paid a ton of money. Instead he spent his time talking to Mills and the media trying to sabotage Woodson.

How can you sabotage a lame duck coach? lol. Woodson was in his last year, he wasn't coming back, and when Phil took over that cemented it. Tyson made basically what Lopez makes now, but even when he wasn't trying contributed more. Lopez will never be DPOY nor an all-star.

When Tyson was traded, he had ONE year left. If that isn't the last year, not sure what is.

Why is Fisher always running his mouth?

Fish on Rondo saying triangle isnt for him: "You cant ask a player who wasn't very successful playing against it if he wants to play in it."

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Good for Walton an the GSW but lets be real, not anyone can step in and just coach, but an assistant can if he keeps things the same.

Well said. I can't believe I am agreeing with you

Boston won a title against it, cant be much more successful than that. And it wasn't like Rondo wasn't a factor....

15/7/5 game one against the triangle.

16 dimes in the 2nd game against the triangle.

The closeout win for Boston? 21 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 6 steals.

Dude needs to shut his mouth and learn how to coach instead of feeding the media with sound bites. When your résumé is as poor as Fisher's you don't run your mouth. No one ever hear a peep out of coach Brown of the 76ers. But this dude is constantly running his mouth. Out of 133+ games, when ur record only shows 38 wins, as a coach, you have to STFU

Told y'all those words would prove to be detrimental

Obviously, we’ve got to start winning,” said Rambis. “When I was a player and always when I was a coach, you’ve got a goal of making the playoffs. That’s not only for the benefit of the players… but also for the franchise. We’ve got to start sending the right message out in the free-agent world. You’ve got to send it with the fans.”

And Rambis, who claimed he doesn’t focus on the “interim tag,” feels there is enough talent on hand to make the playoffs a reality.

“If people are healthy, yes,” Rambis said. “We’re a much better team than we’ve been showing lately.”
Rambis expects open lines of communication with Jackson. And he wants input from assistants — he may or may not add another. But Rambis wants input, not just echoes.

This dude Fisher was so arrogant

Jackson spoke of getting short email responses from Fisher and setting up a film session with the entire coaching staff last month — for which not everyone showed up. Jackson called it a communication breakdown.

Players want to win. Players say what most want to hear. Only the gullible take quotes literal.

Knicks1969, if Phil has problem with Fish and his statement he'll deal with it, not you or public opinion so molded by the snit infested media.
Why not read Phils books and learn that not all his championship teams got the triangle leading to a early playoff loss, or it took late in the season befo
re the light went off.

The team is inconsistent, but that means they do get it at times.
Rookies are inconsistent. We have two.
Young players are inconsistent, we have Gallo.
New players need time to learn, we got a bunch.

Kerr took a team that won 55 games and worked from there. Good for him. Phil took a team that won 37 an saw it was in decline and blew it up.

The redundant Rainman act is getting old.

Nalod's words are prophetic

I'm thinking of chimps at typewriters...
EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
