that was also in an era when the PG wasnt featured like it is now. also they had to take a subordinate role to their superstars kobe and shaq
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Yes, the game has evolved. My point is that modern PG's don't really want to play in the outdated triangle offense. It will hurt their stats, their branding and future earning potential. The triange has yet to prove itself in the modern NBA, hard to see star PG's taking the chance with their livlihood when other teams institute offenses that better suit the modern PG's game

Europe is probably a better place to look for guards this year.

Vasquez is a big PG who can shoot and create a little, and seems to be the type of big PG that Phil goes after to fit in the triangle. I think there is a high likelihood we sign him this summer, for better or for worse.

that is not an upgrade over jose, its a definite downgrade

I don't agree. Vasquez is younger for one, and while he's not a great defender, he won't get exposed like Calderon. He's not the shooter Jose is, but does most other things better.

Yeah i'm one of the very few on here that will stick up for Jose on here but even i think Vasquez is better, not much better but better.

That is exactly how i feel. He's not that much better, but he is better. And being younger can buy us more time for whoever the next guy is.

Phil really missed on Lin at 2 years $4.4MM. The guy is exactly what we needed and would have been tremendous with Derrick Williams, KP and Lopez and would have gave us the bench scoring that we are missing.

Really?? The guy tries making a pass that gets way away from him and they showed it a million times for the rest of the year and now you bring it back.
