He suffers from the same fate as Melo. People label him the worst defender and no matter what that is what they will think. After watching him play his defense is not as bad as people make it out to be. He is by no means a good defender but people blow it out of proportion how bad he is. I believe He would not be the worst defender on our team if he was signed with the 10 day contract. We are asking him to be our 3rd string guard and hopefully he can play well enough to become 2nd string.

I just don't see how jimmer is not in the NBA right now. His outside shooting is deadly, he can also create, and get to the hoop. His defense can't be worse then Jose, he should really get a run he deserves it... Also loving what derion Atkins is developing into, a solid low post scorer who is a two way player.

again, i dont watch the D- League. but that really is the only thing keeping him out of the NBA
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I think his lack of speed as a PG, as well as, his defense may be the culprit for him not to be an NBA player right now.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Think Kerr/Paxson.

I agree that we might have something in Atkins too. He is very well rounded.

I just think heat check with him. If he is hot play him. If anything he'd be worth having on the bench to shoot free throws. I don't think the d-league will allow anyone to sign him til after the all-star game. 73 points in the last 2 games is impressive though.

I tend to think that people think he can't get off his shot in the NBA and doubt his quickness. He's also a tweener = stuck with a SG game in a PG body. And seems to be one of those guys who needs to dominate the ball to get his game going. There are a lot of things that say he wouldn't work in the NBA. But a lot of those things were said about Lin, too.

what people dont seem to realize is that if he wanted to Jose could drop 30 every night in the D league. Probably add 5 rebs, 10 assists and a pair of steals also.

I do think Jimmer could be a Jose type player, which would not be a bad thing at all to pick up and develop through the D league.

It must be a kick in the teeth for JImmer to have all that talent and he cannot find his place in the NBA given his skill set is not dominant. Perhaps he is working with our coaches and with the Master himself on finding his place and we'll see his talent come thru in the future, like next season.

I think they laid it out for Jimmer. They probably even promised him a modest 1-2 year deal if he plays enough games in the dleague. Its a very poor FA crop for PGs Conley aside, and with Jose's contract with one year remaining there is opportunity for Jimmer.

I mean look at Melo this year... old dogs can learn new tricks if motivated to do so. In Jimmer's case the motivation is first to get back to the NBA, second in a fashion that has some longevity and third to play for his hometown Knicks.

Jimmer has some potential. Long odds, but I think its a good talent worth looking at.

Yes, what we need is a PG who manages to channel Andrea Bargnani on defense.

Jimmer can do many things that Jose can only dream of. His floater in the lane is amazing! His passing is equal to Jose's. His shooting is at least just as good and he will shoot more so it means something. He can penetrate at will and finish or dish off. Great alley oop passes too. KP will double his highlight film. On defense at least he is younger and has more fight and energy. He is thriving within the triangle. He and Grant should trade places and let's see what happens.

We need a guard that can stretch the floor consistently. Melo and KP would greatly benefit from having a player like Jimmer in the rotation. KP and RoLo can protect him like they have been protecting Jose.

Jimmer understands the triangle, seemingly a lot more than much of our team. He really cuts hard to the basket. He plays passing lanes and has good hands, but his defense in man to man is about as poor as you can get. It is like Harden a few years ago. We all remember those highlights. He scored 36 and 37 against the dleague team that has the best starting record ever. I know it is the dleague but as far as standards go you have to judge by something...right? And his +/- is really good. His team seems to like him so the whole ego thing that was written about is kind of weird. People just can't expect him to be Jimmer from college. We need a spark and he can do that as much as anyone can right now, because he seems to get the crowd in to the game and we lack that lately as well. Also, he doesn't seem to get hurt which is good.
