Mihm is only 24 yrs old and has just as much potential to develop as Demarr or Nazr plus he's 7ft, a true C. Why do people think Nazr at 27 and undersized has "potenital" to be a good center but Mihm at 24, 7-footer with a better offensive game doesn't? Sure he's not a defender/rebounder like Dampier, but could work nicely in the pick and roll that was successful with Doleac last year.
Briggs is right about us needing a C, and I think Damp is still a possibility if Atlanta dosen't make him an offer and GS lets him walk, he may be forced to take someone's MLE. Damp is a bargain at that price, and that would put Memphis and Indiana back in the running for him as well with their MLEs. I'm not sure he wouldn't go to either of those before NY. Z is a pipe dream, I have a feeling that was a bogus rumor to begin with. If it dosen't work out, I have no problem offering that deal to Mihm. In this market you have to overpay for size and he's a RFA so the deal has to be big enough to discourge Boston from matching.

I disagree... we dont need a center, we need a GOOD center. Mihm gives us nothing we cant get from Nazr, or KT for that matter. Who is Mihm stopping that those two arent? We have bigs, they just arent very good. Nazr has one purpose, he's stop gap trade bait. Keck, Stro Swift is undersized, but gives you something we have ZERO of in the frontcourt or center position. Shotblocking and sick athleticism.
Mihm will just add to the logjam of mediocre frontcourt players. Like I said, justing trade for Booth or Battie would make more sense.

Or signing Keon Clark, who is athletic and shotblocking. He'd be a player who wouldn't need the full MLE and a guy who would bring something different than the rest of the Knicks current frontcourt guys.

At this point, with all the trouble, I'd go after White and Gadz... I am not to thrilled with Nazr at center (I would actually feel better with KT there, but that leaves us real thin at PF so...)
