Did you read anything besides the title? Why post in a thread you didnt read? I didnt praise Melo once, but telling thats really all you brought to the discussion. Closest thing I said was
What we are seeing from that player is impressive.

But thanks.

As for Melo getting credit for KP? The numbers prove KP plays considerably better when Melo is on the floor but there are a 100 other threads you can rattle that empty can in. This thread was about Phil Jackson and some perspective on his earlier moves. Thanks for reading.

relax fish i wasnt bashing your thread. In fact i agreed with your assesment about phil doing a good job. I just added that clarence gaines also was a big factor this past offseason

thanks for just adding that. Why is Clarence Gaines here and a big factor?
just adding that? It was in my original post i believe. Anyway to answer your question gaines was the one who scouted KP and told phil that he should seriously consider drafting him. Even nixluva has said the same thing and he is the biggest phil supporter on here. Im not dimishing phils contributions in any way, he is the main factor in assembling the team

That wasnt my question. My question was
Why is Clarence Gaines here and a big factor?

I can make this even easier for you. 2 years ago Clarence Gaines Jr. was a scout for the Chicago Bulls. Why is he working for the Knicks today?

Even easier still...

Who hired him?

See where I am going with this?

Fish you clearly missed my main point in my LAST sentence. I said phil deserves the MAIN credit. You keep assuming im trying to diminsih phils contributions which is not accurate.

After all we went through yesterday with Crzy's thread title you couldn't help but include the same dig in your thread title.

Anyway moving on, Great thread as was Crzymups thread. Just have to look past the title and hope the thread isn't ruined the way Crzy's was. There is a lot of good in there

At the risk of being the banal gunsewing of the Homer (okay, maybe just the "And ra-ra as it seems") crowd,
Great post fish!

Wasn't it tkf? Been so long I've almost forgot. And you've got to give the guy credit, wherever he is. Phil signed Melo, tkf left.

Be that as it may, as someone who was legitimately away from this forum for a few years and came back cold a few months ago and has mixed feelings about Melo, I can tell you my impression from day 1 was the Melo fixation was very, very real and impossible to escape.

Within days I could see certain screen names and know before I read their posts 80% of what their post would be about.

i get what you are saying and i think you made a very respectful post to me so i Appreciate That. I just get tired of a few posters who accuse you of being negative/hater if you bring up any small criticism of a player/coach/gm. I actually consider Myself positive and i love the knicks but i also point out stuff that may be less positive but is accurate

My issue (generally, you haven't impressed upon me an extreme lean for what that's worth) its less a matter of accuracy and more an issue of volume. One can be fixated on a true thing. Often times a true thing could be completely superfluous and/or irrelevant to the topic at hand.

I'm not arguing either side is innocent of all charges.

I'm telling you as a cold outsider without a horse in the race, the overall lean was immediately and inescapably clear.

From my brief experience, I think if you'd ask Martin he'd acknowledge this.

I've been accused of the opposite. Did 5 rounds with Chuckbuck 3 weeks or so ago about whether Melo was the alpha dog of the Knicks, as opposed to KP.

The factual answer of course then and now is Melo, and for stating this fact I was assumed a Melo lover/apologist/ballwasher, etc.

neither is the alpha dog IMO. Both have helped eachother. Melo is clearly our best offensive player but KP is the better two way player right now. I dont pick sides bothe have contributed equally

not true and not fair to say about me. Im a very happy knick fan right now

Often times a true thing could be completely superfluous and/or irrelevant to the topic at hand.

that could be true. Maybe im refering to myself more instead of others because i have gotten accused of being a melo hater which aggravates me because its not true. I guess its frustration more than anything because you constantly have to defend yourself

How can you say that melo is not an alpha dog? Is that what you are saying?

no thats not what i meant. Im at work so its difficult to type on here. Basically im happy with both guys equally thats all
lets switch gears... its not the Melo haters being wrong that is sweet
