Despite the coaching blunder the game was right there to be had. The Nets stink. I don't care how hard they try to beat the Knicks. A minor adjusted like playing more than 8 games would've lead to an easy win. The Knicks are telling as a team. The Nets are far from getting to that point |

crzymdups wrote:Loss to Nets shows how important Carmelo Anthony is to Kristaps Porzingis I'm glad you made a point of this. And i'm glad there is some clear data to back it up so the naysayers cannot dispute. This team NEEDS Melo and without him, KP will be over his head and overwhelmed with a more prominent role. Without Melo, this team is in line with BK this season at the bottom of the east just above Philly. With him, we have a great shot at a playoff spot. |

Here, Fisher admits he goofed the game at 1:08 mark: Stop with the Melo idolotry, the Knicks world doesn't rotate around him. Knicks should've won this game, but didn't close out. KP is human and will make mistakes (he is 20), but will handle the franchise torch by season's end. |

When the Nets played the Knicks at the Garden, they had to put Thad Young, their best defender, on Melo. Melo out? KP gets the other team's best defender and gets no space to operate. Say what you want. When people run out of points they revert back to childish jargon. Facts are For many years, Melo has proven he can still get it done on a nightly basis in spite of being the main emphasis of a teams defensive game plan. Still being able to score and allowing others to have more ability to prosper in spite of that is special. Perhaps your hate for Melo keeps you from realizing the best thing for your afiniti for KP is to have Melo on the floor. As it will enable KP to shine. And ofcourse let your favorite team win? Many have been thought to have the ability to score if they were the main offenaive player and have gone on to other teams to try, Only to find out it is harder than they thought. KP found out, and even said it himself, it's something he is fond of Melo being able to do. Maybe that's why Melo is a hall of famer. Something KP has a long way to go before we pronounce him as one. But I hope he gets there some day. But you need not look any further than last night DW shined due to being perhaps the 3rd or 4th point of focus on the defensive game plan. KP was obviously the 1st. And you saw how he struggled. And no, it was not because of his legs. Last I checked he is 20 years old. And I am sure it's not an excuse you tend to throw out defending Melo on his slow start this year, in spite of knee surgery. Point is, Melo has been the main focal point for teams for years and has averaged NBA elite stats. Something you can't replace by a first year player that still has a lot to prove. Melo is not Elite status. He's only elite status for the last couple weeks. KP has done things that only a few 20 years olds have accomplished in a long time. Only Knick since Mark Jackson to win Rookie of the month back to back. Melo? He's never made 1 single ALL NBA FIRST TEAM or ALL NBA DEFENSIVE FIRST TEAM. Come back to me when Melo makes one then you can put Elite and Melo in the same sentence. |

Attributing this loss to just Fisher is what's absurd. maybe if guys like DW would play some defense instead of just offense and dunking the ball we would of had a better chance. Maybe if player were hitting their shots we would of had a better chance. If anyone thinks that playing K.O'Quinn or K.Seraphin or Sasha more or at all would of changed the outcome then maybe those people should think again. We lost the game because of many things not one thing. |

so pathetic how this thread turns into a "melo isn't elite" thread when the original intention was only to showcase the obvious fact that the knicks seriously depend on melo.

Also forget the missed dunks. KP shot 5-17. You are telling me he had his legs under him?

You do realize that it's the coaches job to always take blame for losses. It's like that in all professional sports but i guess you don't know that......well you do now. |
