Kevin Seraphin, C DNP COACH'S DECISION

Their problem was defending guards. None of those guys would help in that department. Toure Murry might have helped.

That's a season long problem that won't get addressed until Hose-A is out of there.

Nets got 53 points from their starting front court on 53% shooting vs 27 from the Knicks starting front court. Probably should start there.

Some fresh legs from KoQ and Lou and Seraphin would at least make Bropez and Thad Young work for their points instead of the tired defenders the Knicks had.

I'm thinking about the KOQ, Seraphin, Lou matchups again Bropez and Thad Young and kind of understand why Fish didn't bring those guys out to play. Young is more of a SF who would blow by those guys and none of them can guard Bropez.

That all said Tony Brown played 11 guys to Derek Fisher's 8 tired guys. You've got to bring in the reinforcements at some point, no matter how shytty they are. All the great coaches do it. Some even give their guys off!

Guys tired, give them a break. Even in playground, sub in and sub out. Easy math.

Fisher said he didnt play enough guys, volunteered the information.

Well that is what coaches do. They take the blame for losses any way they can. It's the same way in all professional sports. He's not gonna come out and say DW or Jose don't play defense or it was KP's fault for having a bad shooting night or anything else cause the professional thing to do is take the blame.

Not buying that Fisher is blameless in this loss. He's called out the team when they were underperforming, and last night he called himself out for his decision making. Its one game, not the end of the world.

i understand what he said and how he thinks he messed up. im saying where else did he want to go? oquinn, seraphin and amundson were really the only other guys he could've went to and they all play the same position/do the same thing. where we really needed to go was bringing in a guard or forward who can score and we didn't have any to goto. i am disagreeing with him and saying making the change wouldn't of made a difference since he had no guards or scoring forwards to goto. we lack scoring depth terribly.

KP was gassed, back to back, arms were tired, not very complicated. Im glad Fisher owns up to his mistakes, more faith in him learning from this than I would if he said that he did everything right. I take Fisher admitting that he has room for improvement as a good thing.

what is so hard to understand about what im saying? i have no problem with fisher taking the blame for the loss, it's what leaders/coaches do.. the simple fact though is that he had nowhere to go on his bench even if he wanted to. the team needs to trade for scoring depth so we don't have nights like this again.

I understand completely what your saying. Your're saying you understand why Fisher took the rap, he had nothing to do with this loss, its all on the players. None of the decisions he made had any bearing on this loss. Thats what you're saying, and its 100 percent wrong.

i had no problem with fisher playing a rotation of 10. it's a long season and you need to keep guys healthy and ready, and you do so by going with a rotation of 9 or 10. he was also trying to figure out what combinations worked best together. playing 8 guys last night (not counting sasha's couple mins) was not ideal, but he didn't have much anywhere else to go. with melo out, lance had to start and was out of his element as a starter - only options on the bench were oquinn, serpahin, and amundson, which wasn't going to give us what we needed. if anything, i think last night showed, we are not a deep team at all. we have a good amount of height to delve into, but everywhere else, we are a melo-injury away from falling into a deep hole.

An ideal rotation should be of no more then 10. Yes, knicks1248 and I are in disagreement with BRIGGS

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

All thats being said is that Fisher took the blame, not that he deserved any of it. If you are advancing the argument that Fisher did have a role in this loss it would be a good idea to mention it. Otherwise you leave the impression that you believe Fisher was blameless.

This is so stupid. I think it's absolutely ridiculous to say that KIDS at the ages from 20 to 26 can't play big minutes two nights in a row. To say that a KID that's 23/24 years old can't play the game of basketball for 30 minutes one night and then play 30 minutes the next night is absolutely ridiculous. These are KIDS guys just KIDS and they should be able to give 30 minutes or however many minutes they play for 3 nights in a row if you ask me. They're just playing basketball guys not running marathons. Is the game physical?? yep, but it's still a game and they're only running and banging with each other for 7/8 minutes then they rest then they play for another 6/7 minutes then they rest and they do this for 30 to 40 minutes a night and they can't do it two nights in a row??? Hahahaha RIDICULOUS. People just wanna find reasons to find someone to put the blame of a loss on when in reality you can't put a loss on one person so to try to put the blame for last nights loss on Fisher is also RIDICULOUS and shows how ignorant some can be.

Rant over!!!!!!!

I didnt say 1 word about Fischer---I said it was obvious that we were tired in the 4th Q on defense. We didnt have the extra quality body Fischer could count on or try?? Porzingis played 38 minutes--hes 20. It was painfully obvious he had no lift in his jumpshot and certainly he was tired on D at points. You could see D Williams tire(they took him out with like 3 minutes) Every stat you ever look at shows inefficiency from EVERY team on the 2nd of back to backs. The really really good teams use more than 8 and I dont have to rant to prove myself--just look at the history of the game the last ten years. For me I wouldve acquired an extra wing player/guard once Early was hurt--we need it--even if its a defensive player only.

You said he took the blame not that he deserved it. Fisher said why, you said that his explanation for the loss was wrong. Where in any of what you said points out to him having to do anything with this loss? If you did believe he had something to do with the loss, why leave that part out? We were discussing Fisher's role in this loss.

O'Quinn should have played more. Rotation should not be a problem for this team. Vujacic should never play. The rotation is very simple these days.

C Lopez
F Porzingis
F Melo
G Afflalo
G Calderon

with Dwill, Thomas, Galloway, and Grant all seeing 20-24 mpg. If someone is hurt, O'Quinn should play increased minutes. If a guard is out, keep the rotation of the other 3 guards tight with Lance Thomas moving over to the SG for a little bit to help out. Fisher figured it out, now he shouldn't overthink it.

I think its quality guard depth in general--we have not had consistent quality guard depth--Fischer goes to Sasha but lets face it he stinks. Most of the year Grant has bad terrible and Galloway went through a 12-14 games brutal stretch--if that play was CONSISTENT our record is much better.

It hurt not having Cleanthony Early available last night for sure.

With Melo out, I wonder why they didn't think about adding a guy on a 10-day contract from the WKnicks? Would've been a nice night to give Jimmer a shot or that Bacynski center dude. Or Atkins. Anyone, really, who had some gas in their tank.

There you go Crzy! Now why couldn't you have mentioned this in the other thread before everyone started blugeoning each other to death?
