Not all games, I guess -- just 2 or 3 selected from D-League each day . . .

Thanks. So he's not tall enough to rate as "combo" guard (?)

Jimmer played well, not his best game...he was +18. The team is better when he is on the floor. He IS a threat...that shouldn't be diminished.

Darion has become a legit prospect. I could see him getting an invite next year for us. Always been a great defender and showed his offense when we scouted him at Portsmouth and he has developed more in the D league. I see him eventually being a rotation player in the NBA. I hope we sign him next year.

Darion is getting better an better all the time. He will be a Knick one day. His game has just expanded incredibly so far this year.

I think Jimmer should be on the Knicks because they have a very good defense and I think they can protect him sufficiently in most cases. That being said and I don't say this lightly...Jimmer is a worse defender than JC. Yes, he is. He just will never work hard enough to be better than horrible. Probably the worst defender I have seen in a basketball game.

ter losing a close game to the Texas Legends on Wednesday, the Westchester Knicks were looking to avoid a three-game losing streak. Their opponent in their D-League Showcase finale was the Reno Bighorns. The Bighorns entered the game as the number one scoring team in the D-League.

With the Bighorns running a four guard-one forward lineup, the Knicks were looking to capitalize on that early. Even though Reno trotted out Vincent Hunter, as the team's big man, it was hard to keep up with the Knicks' center Jordan Bachynski. Despite taking an elbow to the face in the second quarter, the former Arizona State product had a productive game. The 7'2" center finished the game with a double-double (24 points and 12 rebounds). In addition, "BLOCKchynski" lived up to his nickname, as he blocked six shots.

The Knicks' backcourt came through in their last game of the D-League Showcase. Travis Trice scored 20 points and dished out seven assists. Jimmer Fredette 21 points totaled 21 points. Fredette showed his playmaking ability in the second half, which included six assists. Darion Atkins was another Knick who added in a double-double (15 points and 12 rebounds).

On the other side, Erick Green filled up the stat sheet. Green, the number five player on the D-League top-25 Prospect Watch, tallied 37 points, five assists, five rebounds, and shot 6-7 from beyond the arc. "He can really shoot it," said an NBA Scout after Green scored 19 points on 6-6 shooting from the field in the first half. Vincent Hunter contributed a double-double (23 points and 16 rebounds).

After a strong start at the beginning part of the game, the Knicks managed to survive. Trice and Co. walked out of Kaiser Permanente Arena with a 115-114 victory.

Has developed a nice midrange shot.

Kind of a tweener...will he be able to guard at the 3. With the way the game is going these days, though, he might not have to worry being overpowered down low by many 4s these days.

I've actually liked him when I've watched their games. Last year he would have been called up by the Knicks, IMO.

I remember you really liked Bachynski. I think he gets signed soon. Not sure if he sticks but he is too big and too good not to be noticed.

If he is a far worse defender then Calderon, we should bring in Murry instead. What our back court is lacking is a guy who can defend, penetrate and speed up the tempo, and make an occasional jump shot; Murry should be able to do that

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I don't think so. Soon we are going to need some scoring, we need to remember that. I think we are playing out of our minds right now and am not convinced it will continue.

With Murry it maybe that he fits the high character, selfless, all about team success model the Knicks seem to be going for. Also, Murry has size and a 6'9 wingspan.

I think you just get another guy that will sit on the bench and not help you at all. My opinion though. I'd take Kilpatrick over him. We need a heat check guy IMO.

Also I guess I should apologize a bit to one Jimmer

http://thebiglead.com/2016/01/09/jimmer-fredette-d-league-defense/

Where it gets interesting is that the Westchester Knicks are so good defensively. Despite playing Jimmer 37.1 minutes a night in 16 of their 21 games, they’re one of only three teams giving up fewer than 100 points a night and have held opponents to 43% shooting this season. (Second best in the league.) Jimmer, who has never been much of a defender, has a defensive rating this season of 102.2. You’ll find his name on page 3 of 6 if you sort by that stat. So, he’s not exactly killing the Westchester Knicks defensively.

Atkins was named one of the top performers for day 3 of the showcase.
Darion Atkins, Westchester Knicks

Atkins' versatile effort, unlike his aforementioned counterparts here, actually led his team to a victory. Atkins' consistency this season has really been something NBA teams should be keeping an eye on. Some scouts say he's undersized to compete with other NBA bigs. Others want to continue monitoring his progress as a first-year pro before taking the chance. Nevertheless, Atkins' overall play and on-the-court grit suggests he deserves to be hitting a big league hardwood sooner rather than later. As the Knicks continued their surprisingly successful season, Atkins, in part, continued stating his early case for a Defensive Player of the Year award. The forward added 15 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocked shots, and 2 steals. Perhaps most remarkably, he was a +23, despite just an one point victory for Westchester. It's difficult to keep him off the court. As he soars, so do the Knicks. Defense aside, he knows how to move the ball after drawing in double-teams. Atkins is an intelligent youngster.

I take it this is the same Erick Green we should be looking at at PG? Really, we need to give this kid a chance with spot minutes, like 10 a game and see what he's got.
