dale davis
adonal foyle
cliff robinson
andris biedrins

why do they need harrington and nazr? i didnt think that they would increase payroll for marginal players and now its more of a no-brainer

where would these guys get PT?

BRIGGS, before that trade went down or these recent rumors about Mullin wanting Nazr, you were saying that the Warriors would never be interested in ANY of the Knicks' bigmen...there were several of us proposing potential sign & trades for Dampier all through last season using Deke, KT, Nazr, Othella & whatever other kind of combination we could think of, but you held onto your belief that the Warriors would never deal w/the Knicks for any of those guys when they already had Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle & Cliff Robinson on the roster.

let's wait & see what happens before we keep assuming that no one wants our players in any trades...it's clear that they do hold value w/certain teams for various reasons.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Well, Nazr could get playing time as the backup of Foyle. Foyle has had some injury problems so having someone to back him up and also be able to start if Foyle goes down. Davis being an expiring contract will be used as that after the season, while Nazr, a valuable backup, will sill be on the team.

Harrington is an expiring contract. He could be used for some minutes but his most important value would be as an expiring contract.

GS can let Dampier walk, but if they really owe Dampiers agent something, then the deal makes sense as it helps them someway.

they have 3 C Foyle Davis and Eschymeyer

they have 3 PF Robinson Murphy and Biendrins

from a business perspective--why would you increase payroll for another mediocre big man? and where is he going to play?

BRIGGS as always you managed to absolutley ignore the post that stated arguments contrary to yours. Please go back and read it, then post again, you do say good stuff when you manage to actually pay attention to other people's posts, so just please, read the post right above yours and post again.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Davis is old and has an expiring contract so next year they will be in the same position as they are this year, and that is lookin for another backup center. If they do the mohammad deal they will have a nice backup center for years to come, even though they traded for davis doesn't mean they have to give him minutes. They probably just wanted to get rid of nve because he would probably be complaining all the time so it was better to get rid of him. They were basically swapping contracts. Plus, if they do the dampier trade adding mohammad's salary wouldn't be a big deal, he has good value. This is the same guy that gave Fisher that ridiculous contract, I'm sure he wouldn't mind increasing the payroll a little bit for a nice young talent like Nazr. BTW do u really think they are gonna give Eschymeyer major minutes, if they can get someone like Nazr, I bet Eschymeyer won't be the reason that the Warriors don't get Nazr if no deal takes place. Eschymeyer is like a shandon anderson to the Warriors THEY HATE HIM BAD #*(#%*(%#

Yep, I think it was more about getting rid of NVE without missing the fact that they need his expiring contract. By being an expiring contract, they dont take a step back in trading NVE.

Dale Davis is now in the last year of a big contract so Golden State might not keep him around for long or just let his contract run out then they will save about 11 mil. per year. With that being the case they might still have a need for Mohammed. Mohammed is a much cheaper option for a backup center and younger. Hopefully Zeke is'nt being walked on here - Zeke won't forget it.
