I'd say Howard Eisley, Shandon Anderson, Jerome James and Steve Francis. Huge immovable contracts that prevented us from improving the team for years, and zero contribution.

By comparison, Marbury, Curry and Charles Smith did show enough flashes of brilliance and promise to not label them as all time worsts.

Penny was already done when he came to the Knicks, and I don't recall his contract causing much problems for us. Weiss was never given a proper chance by JVG, as a recent interview reveals.

probably because you'd have no idea what you were talking about, lol (about Marbury anyway). I'm sure that Raymond Felton, Toney Douglas, Jerome James, Charles Smith and Andrea Bargnani should rank high on that list though.

I'm not going to argue that I know what I'm talking about - it usually is not a prerequisite to posting on a fan board :)

But I will try to justify my selection - I graded on a curve.

Marbury to me was the biggest disappointment - a guy we acquired to be the center piece of a team. A guy who had the talent to be an all-time great, but did nothing to improve the team and made it my least favorite Knick team of all time.

Curry - Again a guy we acquired to be a center piece of the team who provided nothing and was part of a Knick team that I rooted for, but had to hold my nose while doing so.

Toney Douglas, Felton - had 2nd string point guard talent - they weren't huge disappointments to me.

Charles Smith - was a good talent who played average. He was a disappointment but we were not trying to build a team around him.

Bargnani - Had some skill, but I do not think he had the potential to be great. He was a disappointment but I think a lot of the disappointment was that his potential was over-rated.

Jerome James - Total waste of space but at his best would only have been average.

Kenny Walker was my worst player...I know 5th in a bad draft is ok, but his game sucked so bad it drove me crazy.

Curry was next...He belonged in the '86 draft with Walker because he played like he was on Coke and was a major underachiever. That guy had skill.

Curry for so many reasons. His cost to the team was huge.
Marbury for sucking the life out of the team.
Fred Weis was never a knick. He sucked because he was a wasted pick. Not much worse then trading a pick for nothing in return.
Steve Francis as it cost us Reezy.
Dyss was an injury.
Bargnani, not because he was a god awful player (we had worse), but for a first round draft pick!!!! Travis Knight has to be there somewhere.
Anthony Randolph for the promise and arguments he caused.

Shandon and Eisley were OK players but bloated contracts and got here because of the Ewing problem.

Have to say the worst knick of all time was Isiah Thomas.

I will get all kinda hate for this but it's my opinion based on dollars earned vs. Production on the last three and flat out frustration on the first

just so you know, about 20% of athletes actually earn their pay.

do you really thing people pay $200 bucks a night to see Rolo, AA, quin, lance, calderon..lol

I can top everyone with the worst knick, hands down, of all time:

James Dolan!

From there, in terms of players - I would want to think about my criteria - are we talking about players we gave up a lot for? Those that under-performed?

Balkman, Lampe were decent players that played ok- then got traded. Dontae Jones really shouldn't be on a worst list - 21st pick, never played & traded.

Stevie Francis - horrible fit. Marbury - we gave up a ton, and while talented, was a bitter disappointment along with Isiah. Eddy Curry, Jerome James? Same - gave up a lot and they were huge mistakes. At least Curry had one decent stretch for us.

How about a little love for Glenn Rice? Tim Thomas? Amar'e Stoudemire?

When can we add Carmelo to this list?

Other than Oakley, who was actually good at somethings, who in knicks history had an uglier jumpshot than Fields?

I suppose you had no problems with Melo making mention of being on this list?

Anthony was not mentioned, of course, in the linked article.

Perhaps I did not comment on the inclusion of Anthony because that was even more ridiculous than Fields being on your list...not even worth commenting on- and of course the guy who posted it does not like Anthony at all.

I also didn't comment about Charles Smith being put on the list by someone, and I know he is not on any 15 worst Knicks list.

Unaware that the OP was talking about the worst jump shot, by the way, and if you really think that Fields is in ANY type of top 15 worst list relating to the Knicks you are throwing away some of your limited credibility.

Enough of the Charles Smith No Dunk. He was fouled for goodness sake.

No one player should singled out in a team sport like Basketball.

I hereby withdraw Fields and insert the worst starting center the Knicks ever had in an NBA Finals, Chris Dudley.

I still don't understand why I have an agenda listing someone who's greatest value to the knicks was the money Toronto ended up wasting on him? Do you have some incredibly fond memory of Fields? Maybe someone is still suffering from a Lin-related hangover? I initially included him because outside of his occassional back door alley oop finish, his non-parabolic j is my main memory of his tenure here.

The list the OP posted included such luminaries as Fred Weis, who never bothered to show up, and McDyess, who never ended up being healthy enough to really play. Sort of ridiculous picks for a worst list imho.

I have no idea where you're going with your Charles Smith reference, but I'm glad someone's bothering to keep a credibility meter for the site.

Duds was a good defender and rebounder, and was huge for us during the 1999 season, anchoring the second unit with Spree and Childs, which oft outplayed the first. Horrendous shooter and free throw shooter, but competed hard. Not deserving of such a diss.

I will say one thing about Postell, his interviews were entertaining. Thought very highly of himself, too bad he didnt have the game to back it up.

Tim freaking Thomas? That fugazi mother f@$&er?!

Blasphemy! Bibby's last second three gave us our first playoff win in more than a decade. He ran the team well considering his health at that stage.

I think you keep it to the past 15 years

1. Eddy Curry for sure
-two lottery picks that turned into all stars and cap space
2. Jerome James
-5 year deal, maybe played 20 games
3. Jared Jefferies
-5 year deal to average 5pts and 4rbs
4. Marbury
- he started the downward spiral of letting the inmates run the house
5. Eisley/Anderson
- the Utah kids albatross contracts, limited production, ala the Toronto raptors laundry fields contract

This guy is in a league of his own:

He's the reason we don't have our first round draft pick this year.

No, the trade for him was the reason. CAA pandering. Since Blame must be assisgned, then it goes to Dolan.

The fact is he is not here producing at 15 pts, 5 rebs and nor is our pick! I have no problem with Phil exiling him.
