The whole "played for Riley, won a chip......" all nice. He can shoot.
But, what is are we trading with? What does NOLA or PHX want? We can't trade picks as we are not dumb anymore. We really should not trade our new free agents as its not cool to bring in players and trade them two months later unless they are down with it.
1969, what currency do you suggest and can you see a fit for those assets on other teams that they would value?
Jose straight up for Cole would never work financially as currently constituted; but, there might be a combination the front office can put together to acquire a player like Cole. Perhaps we can find a trade partner to help achieve such a goal.
I believe this roster needs a couple of pieces to balance it out. It is no secret that we need a PG; further it is no secret that we also need a back up SG. To count on just Afflalo and Gallo for production is ludicrous.
Phill will have to make a decision about Calderon, because he is not being used properly for what he can currently do skill wise. We all know the dude can shoot the ball; but we all also know that he no longer has the intangibles to play the starting PG position. He can't breakdown the defense with his speed, he constantly slows the tempo because he does not have it. Best thing would be to move the dude if it is at all possible; but if we chose to keep him, he has to be used for what he is great st; which is to play strictly as a back up SG.
