Great move by Phil to bring him back. Never been more happy to be wrong.

At this level that's the difference between a bottom of the bench guy and a rotation player. Knowing your name will be called every night makes a difference too.

His defense has been the biggest surprise

Really? even in our bad season he showed really nice flashes as a good defender. It was his improvement in his torrid shooting that his been the biggest surprise in my opinion.
Shooting 37% from 3
49% 2pt FG
57% TS
Great stuff really.

They talked about him doing a lot of shooting in the off season.

The corner 3 has been a great shot for him.

Always strange how some guys can emerge on a team...seemingly out of nowhere.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I don't know about that. Dray is a superstar. That dude can run an offense, anchors the defense and is a hell of a scorer. He is what Barkley ever wanted to be:)))). He has what Barkley has ever gotten; the ring.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

not at all. Dray is a Point PF / Point Center who is the teams primary facilitator (which is insane). LT does not facilitate at all at this point, he just looks to capitalize on his shots when he has the opportunities and plays feisty defense.

LT is a heady SF who is developing a 3 point shot. Battier lite I thought was a great comp.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Yep. I didnt understand Phil giving him that token raise but his deal is now a steall. His character, effort and D has always been there but now he has a fluid J that he is confident in and he has become a very good and versatile rotation player

Agreed.
Even though with his work ethic he was going to get better, Fisher and Phil deserve mad credit for giving this guy all their confidence rather than going with mainstream targets like Thanasis or Ndour. I could never have predicted that in a million years.

I admit I was dead wrong about the guy ... he has provided energy whenever he has entered the game

If giving the time and the same attention, maybe Williams can turn out to have the same success. From the games I have watched, I see this dude Defending as well. He might have to improve his rebounds, but the dude is athletic enough to be a special player if the front office can find ways to get him minutes. He is a speedster, I would use this dude to replace RoLo and Gallo for Calderon.

I'm not totally sold on replacing someone for DWill, but I do agree that he can develop similar in the way LT was developed. He should be getting consistent minutes more often. I really believe this guy can turn into something really good for us.

I don't even think anyone was even wrong about him. I just think he worked on his game and improved that much.
