Grant to KP in that second unit would've been show time. And guess who would've finished most games.....Grant and KP!

But everybody killed me for that....KP is our future star, who needs to learn how to play like a top star.....instead of playing under Melo's shadow.

i have been lobbying for melo to come off the bench as a 6th man. for the remainder of his time as a knick. it isn't politically correct but it would be the best move of all. that way he doesn't have to expend energy defending starters and he can do more of what he is comfortable doing.

last night the tnt folks were talking about "whose team it is." the pistons were thomas's team, celtics were bird's, bulls jordan, lakers shaq, etc.

the clippers should be blake's team and they'll continue to have an identity crisis until that matter is resolved... mark my words.

same is true with the knicks, unless kp6 implodes. this has to become kp6's team and the sooner the better. in my thoroughly hypothetical scenario:

kp
lopez
lance thomas for now but eventually williams
afflalo
galloway for now until grant gets his jumpshooting together

melo
seraphin/o'quinn
calderon
williams
grant

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I expect you know that "lobbying" for Anthony to become a 6th man is a fools quest.

Have Fisher and Phil given you an audience, yet?

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

You're describing a symptom and not the cause. They are getting behind in games because they aren't maximizing the talent they have on the floor. Jose is a PG in name only he's really more of a SG in that he doesn't put any pressure on the opposing defense. He's not actively probing the D and creating shots for his teammates. This is why I feel Jerian needs to be in there with KP more often. Jerian may not be able to shoot but he provides an aggressive presence and can work off Screens at a high level and get to the rim. Jose doesn't really provide any of that. KP will get many more scoring opportunities with an aggressive PG IMO.

We know that Jose isn't the answer to speeding up our offense and making it more efficient. I think we might as well give Jerian a shot. Even with his mistakes I think he should be allowed to play thru them much as we did with KP and let him gain his confidence. When Jerian is confident he is a much better player than when he's tentative and not being aggressive.

Also with a better mix of speed in the Starting Lineup we will see more fast breaks which is SORELY needed by this team.

Melo, actually rotates well in this play....is in the right spot...and then....jumps out of the way. Rondo is shooting 50% from the line this season. Foul him if you don't think you can stop him. This is a big reason why KP at the 5 with Melo at the 4 doesn't work.

Melo makes our team vulnerable n weak every time he is at the 4 spot.
Tyson Chandler said those same words about Melo poor switch on defense and we traded Tyson.
When Camby said those words about Melo in Denver, Camby was traded.

Fisher letting Melo play at the 4 spot is like a guarantee Knicks Loss!
Calderon poor ability to move and communicate on defense means he should never receive over 10 minutes of playingtime during the 2nd half of any game this season. Defensive STOPS are a MUST in the 2nd half of our games.

Every time I see Grant or KP in the closing crunch-time minutes lineup, I lose faith n confidence in Fisher as a coach.
All rookies make mistakes, why would a coach want his rookies making mistakes that cost the TEAM the game in crunch-time.
Especially, early in the season. It should be about the rookies building confidence early in the season to be reliable in midseason to receive crunch-time minutes.

I don't know if you meant to say "Every time I see Grant" in the closing crunch time because he's really never in there. I actually WANT to see Jerian get some meaningful closing minutes. At this point we really don't have anything to lose. If we didn't have Jose we'd HAVE to play Jerian, so...

KP is a starter so you expect him to be in there and he's helped this team more than he's hurt this team. KP has so much confidence and adjusts so well to a challenge that it's almost unbelievable. He has adapted to most every challenge he's faced. After Cousins abused him, KP adjusted and shut Cousins down.

I want to see Jerian and KP play together and start to develop some chemistry. They literally never play together!!! 17 minutes on the floor together over 24 games is nothing. I couldn't believe that it was such a small amount of time that Jerian and KP have actually been on the court at the same time. They could achieve that in ONE GAME!!! So what we're talking about is effectively NEVER seeing Jerian play with KP, the guys were drafted to play with each other.
