It gives the couch managers, who sits in their man cave all day, a voice. I see nothing wrong with that. Briggs is the most popular poster in here, and he thinks he's smarter than every knick manager that ever existed....Nothing wrong with that. It's creates healthy debates.....Without debates, whats the point of having a UK site? Knicks1969 feels that Fisher is not capable of coaching at this level. OK....
If it was Phil Jackson coaching, others would say he's too old to coach an NBA team. OK....
The beauty of living in America is freedom of speech.
But back to this thread, I think Fisher is over his head.....I think Phil was over his head, but I'm starting to come around now, with the KP pick and FA's. But Fisher is trying to figure out how to satisfy Phil and his roster, while trying to win games....and not exposing KP. Then he has to deal with all the negative press that comes with losing in NY. It's not easy. It's also too early to call for someones head right now. Lets see if Fisher is actually learning on the job, as it seems. I will see if he makes any substitution adjustments going forward. We will know more come mid season, at the All Star break.
1969 might be a great guy, im sure he is, i'd bet on it, he seems like a really good dude. but to say the same thing thread after thread, even threads where it's not relevant, it becomes tiresome. ive been coming here long enough, where if something is hampering my experience and others, i'm going to call it out. simple as that.
and ps - that has nothing to do with whether or not i like fisher. fisher clearly has an incomplete grade so far, but it's the constant stuff thread after thread is where i have a problem. i couldn't care less if fisher was the coach here or not.
How do you quantify incomplete as a grade? Please advise
ive made my point clear on fisher a few times, ill do it one last time. last year, i don't think you can even count for fisher. midseason trades, rookie head coach, star player injured all year, crap roster, it was nothing more than a learning year for him. he had some good games, some bad games, very iffy. but he also had no roster, so how can you determine what kind of coach the guy is? gregg popovich won 17 games his first year as a coach.
this year, the team has been .500 and so far fish has been looking for the right lineups. seraphin was bad, then really good, and now leveling off. dwill is an enigma and you can see why we got the guy so cheap. he's an offensive dynamo (at times) and other times he doesn't look like he's on this planet, especially defensively. kp has been great and i think fish deserves SOME credit for easing his transition. fish also stuck with calderon when guys like you, were banishing him from the team and he's played really well the past 3 weeks. so all and all, incomplete. i need to see more.
