Just need to make sure you have a center next to him who can do the dirty work and protect him from having to constantly battle tough bigs. Lopez seems to fit the bill there. At age 27 it will be good to have him around for many years. He's a good fit with KP. Eventually we need to add a PG that can create easy shots for him too. Maybe grant can be. We will see.

Having a stretch 4 like KP allows us to add a true big man w/o competition for the same shots (ala Gasol/Bynum)

Having Grant brought along slowly this season will benefit him in his sophomore year and hopefully he blossoms into the starting play making PG we all hope he is.

I think the bold point is single handedly the fastest way to accelerate the building of this team. If Grant starts to show he can handle that your FA shopping switches to complimentary players.

Whiteside is a nice piece, but 1) I think he simply stays in Mia and 2) we have Rolo and Seraphin and KOQ and while those guys arent all stars they are servicable players good enough to address other areas.

There is SOOOO much time. I suspect many things change including our opinions of the current roster. For all I know we dont do anything and simply improve from within. That would be ideal

I believe Grant can be our PG of the future which is why I dont like Fisher playing so few minutes with KP. Seems counterproductive. Ive heard different reasons for it, but with all the musical lineups every night, there should be more time for these guys to build some chemistry, bball esp. If this is still going on after the all star break I will be pissed.

Also believe Grant is a better option than Calderon now that he's showing more confidence, but I still believe we need more help. Norris Cole would make a good backup or sometimes starter (in a pinch) for the next couple of seasons. He's an FA this summer. 2 rings, great attitude, would be a good addition.

Yea I think it's only a matter of time before grant takes over the rains as starting pg of the future... Phil really struck gold in this draft not just KP, grant will be a borderline all star in a few years. I really don't care about the range he's got a nice mid range touch, he gets to the hoop and he gets the ball to the open man, natural born pg who wills his team to victory... I hope fish starts really splitting the minutes with grant getting more then Jose... Eventually next year

Grant,jimmer
AA,Galloway
Batum,dwill
Melo,saraphin/LT ?
KP,Rolo

KP will be the starting center next year... I just think the NBA is going small but if not

Grant,Gallo
Batum,AA
Melo,dwill
KP,LT or saraphin
Rolo,Willy

I'm hoping Ben Simmons stays till next year and falls mid range draft he is the perfect triangle guy I mean perfect!

Grant
Batum
Melo
Simmons
KP

Future dynasty!! I honestly think with KP it's not if championships it's when

Phil's team always had one on his teams. One that can stretch the D, one that can play 2 man game with big, one that can post and toast, one that can survey the floor and find the open man, one that can play excellent man to man D without help from bigs.

Whether it'd be Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, or even Odom at 6'10(guy could play 1 through 5)...Knicks are definitely lacking this.

Don't know who that could be at the moment. A middle tier Batum? A hopefully healthy Durant? An undersized Westbrook?

Once you pair an elite wing in their prime with KP....

At least your consistent........

Consistently...great! You're really making me blush with all these compliments lately.

This and of course Grant's continued development. He is on the very of replacing Calderon and I can't wait to finally see a some at complete NBA defense

Large athletic wings. I have confidence that Grant will be terrific. Obviously KD but it's doubtful. Batum. Bazemore. Obviously Winslow in a Melo deal which is highly doubtful. We really need to move Melo for a future championship piece if we can.

The more I think about Whiteside the more I like it. Can you imagine him and KP wreaking havoc on other teams for the next 10-15 years?

This is an extended discussion of Knicks -- 45 minutes. All of it may not be great, but it gets you thinking.
