This kid is the next big thing and is the type of player other players would love to play with. K.Durant sure would look good standing with KP and Melo in a Knicks uniform but where would he fit? I don't think he'd fit in with Rolo, KP and Melo cause he needs to play SF/PF and we're already good there.

You start KP at the 5 or Durant at the 2. Fit won't really matter when you have versatile players like this, they will fit just fine together. I would happily take Durant but Beal (who is unlikely because he is restricted), Conley, and Batum seem like the best options. Having Conley would be absolutely awesome.

I love connelly.

Mixed on beal. First, he is not an option and he won't be available. 2nd, not much of a ball mover. He is much more efficient this year compared to the last few years but not sure if he will sustain it. Also does not shoot that many FT's. We need guys who can get to the line. I hate Derozen but the dude can get to the line!

Do you love him at $20mm? At $10mm his value is one of the best in the NBA. At $20mm per from ages to 29-34 not as much, and I am a fan of him bigtime.

We could really benefit from an alpha guard. Its also possible that Grant explodes here. I get we havent seen it but I do think many of the tools are there to be a Conley caliber player (different style, same level of impact).

No way at 20 million.

I perhaps would overpay for a shorter term deal. He has also not gotten off to a great start.

I am still in pain over losing out on Lowry (BARGS!!). Him at 12 million is a crazy steal. What the hell was Morey thinking on that one?

I think that we need a star at the two. A Kobe type. We have Grant and Trice who I like a lot. Plus Calderon.

Beal, Fournier, Batum, Derozan come to mind as nice scorers. Is Fournier unrestricted?

I can imagine the thread action if Kobe was in blue and orange. Thread titles like KOBE YOU BALL HOGGIN' GEEZER or KOBE STOP SHOOTING IT YOU'RE 38 not 28. Endless threads and discussion.

You don't think he's retiring? I also noticed that Jeremy Lin and Bazemore are UFAs that wouldn't cost us much as a replacement for Sasha. I know Bazemore has had some good games but is he Phil worthy?

The more I look at it the highest quality players at the guard position are Conley, Beal, and Batum.

Kobe probably comes cheap if he plays.

Bazemore or Lin even cheaper.

From what I've been reading in Bazemore's scouting reports he's a lights out defender and great teammate in addition to his burgeoning offensive game. I read that he plays much taller than the 6'5" SG that he actually is. Interesting!

and the dude can shoot. Every time I have seen him play this year I kept saying to myself "who is this guy"?

I would much rather pay low for guys like this. So much less risky.

I really wouldn't mind adding Bazemore and Lin next year plus another big like Noah, Gasol, or Horford.

Agree with the thoughts we really need a star guard. Conley is a FA, but not sure I want to give him the max at 29-34 years old.

We have some shooters, a pair of dynamic forwards and some nice blue collar bigs. What we need now is a 25 year old Steve Nash. Funny, I know Rubio was mentioned during the offseason, dude is having a breakout year and is one of the best guards in the league right now

Rubio could be just what this team needs. He's better on defense then some think and his passing ability is ridiculous but his shooting isn't there and i think we need a PG that can hit the 3 ball.

he is playing great overall but 15-25% from three is not gonna cut it here where his traditional PG skills maybe devalued

Well i think a guard would be the best way to go with what we have now so here are some interesting names that are UFA's after this year.

D.Wade
B.Jennings
E.Gordon
M.Conley
R.Rondo

I'll give you the no way on Rondo but both Jennings and Gordon could both be good if put in the right situations. Another good thing is that we finally have a full team of tradeable players which we haven't had in a long time so we have the pieces to make a good trade and i think Phil will be looking hard at trades around the deadline.

call me crazy but I don't want durant.

I like Durant, and I would've loved to have him on the team last year or the year before. But right now I don't think we need him anymore. We have to see how the rest of the season shakes out and see where our most glaring deficiencies are.

Yeah i think most of us think if it's this same roster that we're adding that next big name piece to that it would need to be a guard. We have good size with Rolo, KP, Melo, O'Quinn and Seraphin but i also wouldn't count out Phil making a trade cause we have some really good pieces that other teams would want.
