I can't say i agree with that. A player you like at #4 you generally like them because you believe they are going to be great. A player you like at 26 or 38 you might not view as a star, but a player who you think will be a very solid NBA player and has one defining skill that makes them a good role player, but definitely not at #4.
Whatever pick you have--you try to get a guy you like--maybe that guys turns out to be a star or good player. I learn more about the NBA all the time. The draft process is one that you dont finish until late in the process--maybe even 10 minutes before. Seems that way with the Knicks. I dont think the Knicks liked KP as much as me. They still were looking elsewhere according to Bill Simmons.
they were not looking elsewhere, they were drafting Stein as you guaranteed.
You were way off and you often are (just like the rest of us). Don't back track.
And you have no freakin clue what the knicks were thinking, you report it as if you are marc berman. Bill simmons knows I little perhaps but Phil don't let nuthin out of the bag! Nobody sees what he has coming. This is not the MDA days when we were drafting Curry.
And, you were sure the KP was hiding and injury .... c'mon man! You jumped on the KP so damn late it was a joke!
You were also absolutely sure that Ok4 was gonna be tim duncan and that he will be unstoppable out of the gate.
You backed off kaminsky because you saw that there was no logical draft gurn predicting that he will be near the top other than you.
so here is what phil is thinking ....
