I'm sorry, but if you are truly a long time knick fan, then smack is absolutely right. And this is why it's so difficult to attract decent players or grow home grown players. Trading our top assets will always be in the headlines, because we have a culture of having a fan base that lacks patience. Especially when you have a slumping Melo who's your biggest asset at 120 plus mil, and he's getting older. And a owner like Dolan, who makes rational decisions. The only difference this time around is Phil Jackson. We finally have somebody decent as a GM, with the right credibility to block Dolans crazy moves.

I could be wrong, are you sure about that? He's a 25 year old superstar big man. Someone we probably already offered the 4th pick and other assets for. And sac wanted way more than what even LA had to offer.

So here's the thing, there were only a handful of people thinking that Frye was the next TD or whatnot, so the story is not the same, not even close. I don't remember exactly but I think Frye was a senior coming out of college? And there were plenty of people talking about his weaknesses that had not yet gotten exposed but were right there in front of everyone. I recall specially thinking that Frye's footwork was slow, poor and Bippity mentioning that he either played against or knew people who played against Frye during the summer and that he was weak down low.

No one thinks that KP is going to be average.

Correct- people were down on the channing frye pick, which probably played a part in the hype when he played well in his rookie year.
