droll as it is pointless.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

KG is a POS, a talented POS, but a POS nonetheless. There are better players and human beings in general to model after and/or compare KP.

Stop being biased and look at a player objectively. Who cares about the personality for once, look at his game.

KP has a similar build to KG, similar athleticism, plays with intensity on both offense and defense, has a knack for the timely putback dunk, rebounds in the double digits even they have no right to outwork or outmuscle bigs with their stringbean physique, and both players share an internal nasty streak.

All I know is that everyone loves this kid, his peers and coaches in the NBA.

Interesting comment his big man coach said-

Norris told The Post on Thursday. “I told him when you get in the NBA, if you are active, attacking the glass offensively, you can easily rebound in this league because nobody boxes out. That’s what he’s been doing. That’s why he’s getting a lot of offensive putbacks. Nobody boxes out — they just jump up.

This so true

Porzingis averaged just 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in Spain. If his numbers glittered more, Porzingis likely would not have dropped to No. 4 in the draft, where the Knicks snagged him. Norris said Porzingis’ rebounding numbers could be deflated as the Spanish League calculated them differently, not handing out tipped rebounds.

“There were a lot of questions about Kristaps,’’ Norris said. “He was a frail kid at the time and his numbers weren’t astronomical. Half the NBA was there looking at him. But I think he landed in the right situation where he can grow as a player. He’s got the right personality for New York and they’ve embraced him. New York needs a personality like Kristaps right now.’’

Norris hung out with Porzingis over the weekend and noticed only two things have troubled the rookie about New York — the traffic and his amount of promotional appearances. Though an extrovert, Porzingis feels he can use the extra rest, Norris said.

“But he loves it,’’ Norris said. “One thing he says is he can work out whenever he wants to. The only thing he complained about is traffic. He was a little late for the Milwaukee game. He didn’t calculate the traffic well and was still upset about that after the game. He hates to be late. He’s always early.’’

Norris also spoke with Porzingis’ parents, Talis and Ingrida — his 6-foot father and 5-11 mother. Porzingis’ mother is spending the season in New York, just as she spent last season in Spain. His father is in town for the first two months.

“They were thanking me a lot for helping him in Sevilla,’’ Norris said. “I told them I just came at the right time for Kris.’’

Earlier this week Porzingis told The Post, “[Norris] helped me a lot with all the little things of a big man. Before I was just a forward.”

Porzingis said Norris taught him the bank shot, which he never used because his brother didn’t like it.

“I love it now, it’s part of my game,’’ Porzingis said.

Norris is just happy Porzingis is taking advantage of his extreme attributes and has not been just a shooter.
“He’s figuring out how to use his body and strength,’’ Norris said. “He is a lot stronger than he looks. He’d go up against Shaq [O’Neal] and not be fazed too much because of his excitement and willingness to do anything to get it done.’’

According to Norris, Porzingis has connected on a personal level with Carmelo Anthony.

“It’s one of the things Kris is really happy about,’’ Norris said. “He didn’t know what type of relationship he was going to have with Carmelo. He’s really happy they’ve developed a relationship outside the basketball court.’’

I talk about the lack of boxing out in the NBA on a regular basis. It is one of the things which really bugs me in the NBA...the other being the inability of players to use the glass when shooting short angled jumpers.

It is one of the most annoying things in the world to see your guys looking up for a rebound and not boxing out as an opposing player comes swooping in to grab the rebound or tap the ball in.

My own theory is that the larger or more athletic players were so used to getting rebounds by just out jumping opponents or just being larger, that they never learned to box out.

Thankfully, KP seems to have learned how to do it, and we have a number of guys who do it well.

This is something I noticed KP doing earlier in the year. Got caught by the ref, once, but I've also seen him get away with it. Notice the left hand:

I'll bet he learned it from O'Quinn or Lopez, but only speculating.

Our little boy is learning.

One guy one our team who know nothing at all about boxing out is D will, that guy jumps straight up, and since he never boxes out, he tends to miss time his jump, and the ball either rolls off his finger tips, or someone bullies him for the board. he's 10x more athletic, and can jump out the building, but since he's always going 90 on a 55 he misses things that can help the team.

KP will get a little stronger, but he is always going to have that reggie miller/KG frame, and those guys stayed relatively injury free through their careers.

Amare never boxed ... drove me insane!

My coach used to tell me that the best box out is if the rebounding would/could actually hit the floor first and then you grab it. Not that we should let it hit the floor but the concept ...

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I am looking at him objectively, and I'm not being biased. Why would I be biased against KG, because he was a Celtic? Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. I don't hate Paul Pierce. No, my point is KG is a POS and I don't want KP to be a POS. Me thinking KG is a POS is the epitome of being objective. Look at how successful he's been in his career. Someone being non-objective would equate that to NOT being a POS, in most cases.

Oh no, I am talking exactly about his personality. I don't want him to look towards KG as someone to model his on the court game after. He's a dirty POS with an ugly attitude. Period. KP looks like he has no intention nor inclination of going that route. And I hope he never does. And I don't want to hear the 'well if he was on your team you'd feel differently about it', because no I wouldn't. I didn't like Chandler, for different reasons, and he was on my team.

MVP of the league in 2004. DPOY in 2008. THAT'S a whole lot of ALL NBA Defensive teams. Made quite a few All NBA 1st teams as well. Melo ain't sniff neither.

You're just blind homer biased fool.

See you are the one not being objective. You just proved my point. And I am not being a homer. I clearly acknowledged that KG was successful and talented. Show me how thinking KG is a POS is being a homer. If that were the case than I would think LeBron is a POS, I would think Noah was a POS, I would think Paul George was a POS, I would think Wade was a POS, etc. Maybe you should get off his dik?

How is KG a Piece of Shyt other than personality wise? Explain your stance?

If it ain't basketball related, you don't know what phuck you're talking about.

Ok, thought you were talking basketball. Oh well...

Would love KP to be KG 2.0. That'd be something else.

Amare never boxed ... drove me insane!

My coach used to tell me that the best box out is if the rebounding would/could actually hit the floor first and then you grab it. Not that we should let it hit the floor but the concept ...

That happens a lot with Rolo.
