The bench could and should have helped him out, but they did not. The dude needs to know that he will be given 15 to 20 minutes per game and be allowed to make mistakes. This is basketball after all. Just like some around here expect us to take it easy on Fisher, he needs to take it easy on Williams
Why are you so sure DWill would've been the difference in this game? The Knicks had many opps to win this game and I don't think it really came down to playing DWill or not. I like DWill and I expect he'll get his chances this long season. It was Fisher's decision to see what others could give him. That's his right and is understandable this early with a new roster. It's not a lock that they if Fish plays DWill.
Are we the only team with new players, like i, said no team in the NBA rotates 14 guys, stop acting like this is normal and some of us shouldn't be concern.
I bet you we would have taken more than 7 damn ft's if d will and grant played more minutes
you need to give fisher 25 games to settle in and see what works and who works with whom. it's an entirely new team and they are trying to run a system that requires a great deal of repetition. and we just got the starting shooting guard back. fisher has already stated the goals for this season quite clearly, namely that it's a process of learning how to become a winning team. can't you give him and his team 25 games to sort things out?
Listen, we're no longer making the triangle a priority, so don't give me that. Think about this...We are tied up with 26 seconds and the ball, you have a pg (calderone) with 9 yrs experience, (you already took out grant) why exactly are you calling a time out, you have the advantage, your opponent can't set up a defensive play, or put their best defenders in the game, at worst case, you run the clock all the way down and try and find a mis-match if we miss, they only have 2 seconds(which is how it turn out) but since FISHER call the time out, he gave the rapts time to gather thmeselves, and make a stop, which they did.
That's bad coaching.
Fisher think he's smarter than he really is. I watch Jason KIDD during timeouts, his much more experience assistant do most, if not all the talking in the huddles, and are the ones drawing up plays.
I like some moves that fisher does, but he is once again losing games by his suspect substitution pattern, and his in game adjustments(7 free throw attempts)
Fisher has been down on dwill since the preseason, even when he scored a team high 24 points in one preseason game, his post game response was( derrick was not in the right spots most of the time, and he needs to work on that) but you won by double digits you idiot, and he shot 60%
