Stat made a HUGE impact his first year. He was in the MVP conversation most of his first year.
JR Smith won a 6MoY award.
Langston Galloway was signed as a free agent.
STAT? Seriously?
Seriously. I qualified what I was referring to specifically. Before Melo came MSG fans chanted 'M-V-P' while he was at the free-throw line.
Things went south, but he was credited for putting the Knicks on his back that first 2/3's of that first year.
The Garden also chanted M-V-P when Kobe was dropping 61 on the Knicks neck a few years ago, as well as, when he was getting his ass kicked by the Knicks on Sunday. So take what you will of the MVP chants with a grain of salt.
Context is everything. In the case of pre-Melo Stat, he WAS in the MVP conversation and had the the very legitimate immediate impact of making the Knicks into a postseason qualifier.
Any retort to that?
No.
Got it.
LOL Stat, MVP. Good one!
You're going to have to explain to be the appeal or value in denying accurate statements.
Stat was widely regarded as being in the MVP conversation at the time I cited.

Ahh the January MVP vote!
So you deny what I posted which was Stat was in the MVP conversation pre-Melo trade and somehow during the course of your 'argument' you decide it's a good idea to restate exactly what I posted.
YES, the January MVP vote, the thing you seem to have forgotten you were rebutting
