never heard of this. All I know is that all kinds of professional athletes use sand training because it's heavier/harder on muscles while easier on joints.

I was under the assumption that it was barefoot.

Don't know if this has been done...but I've always felt that you could improve your balance by battling the waves at a beach while you are standing up. Not that helpful for basketball, but athletes in the sports I've been most involved in-football and wrestling might benefit. Might help your D in basketball if you are a big man- especially your center of gravity.

I would also think that good surfers have some exceptional balance, and the ability to adjust their center of gravity.

Maybe Melo can pay for surfing lessons if they do the Puerto Rico get together next year.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I thought it was Lance Thomas who ran in the sand or on beaches over the summer...

are you sure... i thought i heard langston...he's been changing direction on defense really well

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Who wears shoes on the beach?!

Yes, you take your shoes off to run in sand.

Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

Rebecca Haarlow reported at the start of the second quarter of the Bucks game Friday night that Lance Thomas added 15 lbs in the off season and got his body fat down to 7.5% and went to Florida for sand/beach workouts..Maybe Galloway did the same thing but I didn't hear it..

The 6-2/6-3 guard is really having a serious push into elite NBA status that it never enjoyed before. In our modern day were used to guys 6-6 -7-0 feet dominating the game. Now with guys like Lillard McColum Teague Rose Curry--you can see the value of these types of guards skyrocketing

Depends on the sand conditions. If it's soft, then yes, shoes wouldnt be needed. But all beach sand isnt soft.

I know that I have seen articles mentioning Blake Griffen doing a lot of Baywatch beach strength exercises back when he came out of college.

The poor diet and empty calories so many Americans are eating these days in their growing years.

I think that a lot of bball players married (short) jews and had really smart and athletic kids. These kids are also super stat gurus do to them being CPA's.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

gunsnewing wrote:Beach soccer is great for balance if you play soccer. Partially responsible for Brazil's beautiful game and why they are historically great moving the ball around the field. Not just on the ground but in the air as well. Great balance.

At least prior to Brazil wanting to play German brand of physical/defensive soccer under Dunga. Loved Dunga as a player but he should not try to change their identity that's been historically great. Then again with the exception of Neymar the players newer players are just not good enough or smart enough anymore.

Brazil still has some nice players on the low coming up

Douglas Costa has been cooking for Bayern
Firmino will come a long soon
Willian is still producing
Coutinho is improving.

The Future is Bright!

Good news is he will be a restricted free agent with a low cap hold/QO.

If he earns that much after 82 (or more) games, that'll be good news for the Knicks.
