I see Jose as place holder until Grant is ready, but I highly doubt he's as bad as he's shown. Like you said.. he's a pro. Getting beat on D? OK... but not shooting like he is. I expect a night where he shoots 4-6 from downtown and gives us 4-5 assists in 25 minutes. Maybe even a few in a row...fishmike wrote:mreinman wrote:He's got Danny Green tonight, not much of a scorer... He's out there to hit some shots and play smart. He was a big part of the blowout. Last two games he has shot very poorly. Lets see... Im looking for Sasha to play heavy minutes. He's here to spot start and replace guys who are hurt. So far we are 2-1 without our starting SG and with Sasha stepping into that role. This is what you live with when guys get hurt. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

The way fisher is handling things now, is what i expected last season, but he refuse to do anything out side the triangle box, and his rotation made me want to shoot him on the spot. THE DNP's CD for seraphin(despite playing against his old team) and Early was a solid move. Last season he would have given those guys token minutes. ES

I can quite easily point it out to you exactly the same things the team is doing now were part of the offense last year, but it still matters who is playing. You can't turn scrubs into good players simply by having them run the Triangle or any offense for that matter. You still need the players to actually get it done on the floor. Pushing the ball, Drag Screens, PnR etc was all implemented last year but this team is MUCH more talented and better suited to playing this system. As for lineups and rotations that also gets a bit easier when you have more talent. Tho it shouldn't be surprising if a rookie coach makes better decisions with more experience and better players. Fisher's biggest issue last year was talent and inexperience, but it starts with talent. If he had great players it would make him look a LOT smarter than having scrubs and guys who didn't fit. |

![]() Yeah, I agree - Fisher started implementing this system with Shved and Galloway late in the year last year.
I wish we would've brought Shved back and bought out Calderon. Then we could be starting General Grant next to Afflalo and have Galloway and Shved off the bench. Anyway, whatever. But Calderon needs to not be starting at some point soon. He's getting torched EVERY NIGHT at PG. That's the spot in the league every team (but us) starts their offense from. If you're going to allow yourself to get torched at the point, you're allowing an NBA team to jumpstart its offense. You put the entire team in a hole. Grant or Galloway needs to be the starting PG. I'd start them both for now. Not sure who fits best next to Afflalo, maybe Galloway. Then bring Grant in to run the bench unit, but also play alongside Galloway for some time. ¿ △ ?

![]() Fish you've said it all. When Melo is on like that we r beating good teams like WAS. When he's off we still have a shot like against SA who ultimately is just too talented and well coached for us at this stage. I'm still encouraged by our first half play and our grit to stay in it and cut it to 4 playing good d. Of course there lots of lay ups and blown defensive plays in there too but the time is young and learning. I feel really good about this team once everyone settles into their roles.
Offense had a lot of trouble getting going after about halfway in the 2nd quarter. I expect that to subside over time with familiarity with offense and between the players. This is a pretty balanced team that can compete with the best of them. We are a playoff team. |

If he can't shoot then he is (basically) worthless. the older those legs get the harder it is to remain a consistent shooter. This game is too fast now. so here is what phil is thinking ....
