Not sure that anyone on the Knicks who might have given Wally info on this issue anticipated the kind of play Calderon would be giving us so far. You can't continue to stick to your desire to pair G & G if your starting PG is digging a hole for you each night.

I thought he would give us a better showing on the offensive end, but if he can't provide you with this, why play him at all, since you know he is a defensive liability.

Said it on another post...I give Calderon 3 more games at most- if he hasn't straightened out his game after that he has to sit.

Honestly...at this point I would prefer to see Trice starting over Calderon, considering how Jose has played so far.

Honestly a starting five of grant and Gallo with melo,kp,Lopez would be great... Anything to get Jose on the bench the better.

Pass the ball to Dwill every time, let him get his points. KOQ mix it up.

We will still need either Grant or Galloway off the bench to create offense and get the ball to DWill and KOQ in scoring positions. Fortunately, bringing back Afflalo will solve that problem. Rotation will hopefully look something like this with everyone healthy.

C Lopez 28 mpg
F KP 24 mpg
F Melo 32 mpg
G Afflalo 32 mpg
G Grant 24 mpg
6th DWill 24 mpg
7th Galloway 24 mpg
8th KOQ 20 mpg
9th Calderon 16 mpg
10th Vujacic 16 mpg
11th Seraphin: spot mins
12th Early and Lance spot mins

Calderon, Sasha, Lance, D-will, OQ
Early can be there when ready...

that would be awful.

Gallo or grant need to be on the floor at all times.

Agreed with Grant or Gallo until Affalo comes back. They need to stagger the substitutions with that starting lineup, but that needs to happen sooner than later. The defense from their current start backcourt is unacceptable.

With this particular rotation, I don't think I'd want to push Afflalo to 32 mpg so soon after his hammy issue. So with that in mind, I'd move Gallo up to the 6th man and jacking up his minutes to 30 - 32. And don't be too quick to reduce Seraphin to spot minutes. Playing him next to O'Q might end up working pretty nicely if he finally calms down and stops trying to rush things.

The main problem with us right now is Jose Calderon who is hands down the worst of our pg's

So the way I look at it now is .. one of grant or Galloway should start cause we need one of them to man that second unit ... We can not allow Jose to ruin the confidence of our second unit like he is doing to the first unit.

Start Melo with our only true pg in grant. I love Gallo but grant can really create for the offense
By breaking down the defense.

Grant,Gallo
AA,Sasha
Melo, dwill
KP,lance
Lopez,O'quinn

Eventually

Grant,Gallo
AA,Sasha
Melo,early
dwill,O'quinn
KP,Lopez

That's still a solid second unit that can run the floor. I just see KP as the future starting center
I like Lopez but he could energize that second unit ! Seeing Lopez guard Hartford was hard to watch.. KP on the other hand can give a guy like Hartford or any quicker centers fits. If we are worried about dwill manning the 4 ether switch with O'quinn or put Melo at the 4

I just feel if we come out with energy it will give us a greater advantage throughout the game. I also think a second unit of Gallo,Sasha, early,O'quinn,Lopez is still super solid .

I see your point, but I think Gallo might work as our starting PG as well, mostly because he has a better jump shot. I don't think he's AS fast as Grant, but he can still break down some D. And then you slide him up to the 2 when Grant comes in.

I like that idea too.. Also with Gallo and AA opposing guards wouldn't be able to get to the paint at will... I just would really like to see what grant can do with Melo,KP, and even Lopez

We'll probably see it some day. At the very least we'll more than likely see it next year. But first we have to see how things shake out over the next 3 or so games. You never really know what's actually going to happen until it actually happens.

If Jose is the starter vs Washington be prepared to be down quick and for j wall and beal to dominate Jose and Sasha. Although I think Sasha can hold his own defensively ... Everyone heavily compensates for Jose's lack of defense... Put in Gallo or grant and Sasha and the rest of our sl can focus on guarding there man.

I just hope fish is quick to make the change and not be so far under the 8 ball like we were vs atl. cause once teams get up big they can really attack with the 3 esp with a sharp shooter like beal.

Things were so bad last year, including his health, that he never really faced the scrutiny of the NY media. It will be interesting to see how he performs tomorrow. The Wall matchup is a horrible one for him.

Hahaha. Good luck with that.

One thing that Fish is doing well is limiting guys minutes. He is playing a ten man rotation.
