Lesson Fischer--don't fck your friends wife's ex or not. VERY low class.

You should be fired for causing a problem before the season starts.

There are millions of women in the world--this guy is a multi millionaire ex basketball player--could have his pick. His fault and its really bad. Isiah 2.

you know nothing about this and you want to fire him and then compare to Isiah? Do you hold yourself to the same standard?

It's seems to me to not be the best decision to want to involve yourself with a reality queen type woman, especially an ex-teammate, ex-wife scenario... but so far all we know is backyard bbq type setting with a friends and family setting?

I dont think he should be fired, but definitely talked to as it is not a good look.

not sure that he can get passed this distraction. Every reporter is gonna drill him on a daily basis. The pressure is going to be immense.

I have a feeling that he does not make it through the season. He better get out of the gate quick.

yeah, and it's unfortunate. As a fan I want to see if the team actually can play, a distraction stemming from your coach is rather bad, and it lays a ton of ready made excuses.

there are always a ton of built in excuses ... thats why its no biggie for diehards to predict 45 wins :-)

True, but I can see it now. We would have won alot more if the team didnt have to deal with distractions before the first preseason game....

Would this be less of a problem if it happen with some other random ex husband that was not an nba player? Also, if they had the weekend off who cares if it was a 5 he drive to Buffalo or a 5 hr flight to LA.

Barnes just seems to have problems with lots of people and his is very public about it.

Derek needs to stay away from ATtention reality TV sluts, they are just trouble. "Distractions" are a part of life.

Not saying Barnes is right, but I can understand. Coach is smashing his ex-wife, spilling Dom Perignon on the carpets and bed he paid for. That would make a lot of dudes go crazy and Barnes already toes that line anyway. Coach should have steered clear.

Dude.... I kinda respect and almost applaud Barnes for doing what he did. Fisher is his ex teammate and he probably had dinner with their wives as players. Fisher is in violation of the guy code big time.

I gotta say though, Barnes soon to be ex wife is HOTT!

I don't think this is a distraction for the team. It is definitely a distraction for Fisher though. The Knicks coaching staff is filled with solid vet assistants. It should be smooth sailing. Hopefully Fisher rebounds from this and becomes a better coach.

kind of agnostic here. Don't think that he was a good choice as a coach and don't think that he was that good of a player. Seemed like a good leader though but not so sure about that anymore.

Distraction how? Is it going to disrupt his coaching. Is he going to stay up at night worrying now.? I doubt it.

Also, for people saying they were likely friends, not every teammates are friends with each other. They could have had a working relationship and that's it. Honestly, how many seasons did they even play together?

I think if you play in NY you are used to that. It seems like the Kidd dwi/car wreck was forgotten about very quickly and didn't impact the season a couple of years ago.

At least it's a love TRIANGLE, and not Fisher just PICKING her out for a ROLL in the hay, so to speak.

It will make our games with Memphis a bit more interesting, I do know that.

Thankfully we have a more physical group of players this year...I'm sure they will have Fisher's back.

These were two single adults who were dating each other. Matt Barnes is ****ed in the head. Will people please stop heaping blame on Fisher? Hasn't anyone here ever dated women who were married before?
You whine about the media targeting this type of thing. This thread shows exactly why the media targets these. There's a bunch of fans who can't wait to discuss this completely irrelevant BS so they can get their digs in on Fisher. Get a grip or better yet get a life and move on.
