So who is being predictable in their comments now, guys... Amazing how some seem to dismiss journalists or those who speculate based on solid info. Araton is a fine reporter, Mr. C...you may not like him, but he is a respected professional. He is also more of an opinion writer than a "reporter," you have to accept that he is taking a side on some issue, or bringing something to light. By the way, there is no "mind reading" being done when you look at statements being said by this or that person and breaking them down and analyzing them. As an example, Phil Jackson's comments always have some deeper meanings or motivations. If you want to accept them on face value, fine, but I prefer analysis and hypothesis writers like Araton.
Anthony has held a charity weekend in Puerto Rico for several years. But he'd never hosted workouts. He said he decided to put together the workout this summer to help all of the new acquisitions get acclimated to one another. Think I did the first thread on the PR gathering http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=52311...I know that I made positive comments in other threads. Hopefully they become a yearly event while he is a Knick. Great concept- they can have a vacation, play some ball and bond, and get involved with a charity at the same time. Not that concerned with a guy being a classic leader on the court...like a James, who is at the extreme end of this type of player. You do expect a player to perform in the way they've been coached, and set an example in that way, and perhaps discuss things with teammates at times. Galloway seemed to be emerging as a leader in terms of is knowledge of the Triangle...you could always see him moving people around on offense, but he doesn't have the gravitas to be a true leader on this team. I am concerned with having a good "locker room," and expect the responsible vets to keep the knuckleheads in line. Why wasn't JR put in his place last year? Sometimes you need a fellow player to do this, and not a coach. You have said that you are a coach, Fishmike...don't remember the age of the kids you deal with, but as a HS coach of 23 years, I can say that my best teams always have good leaders who are proxies for the coach, and they frequently deal with things that the coach himself might not even know about...or not want to know about. I'm feeling good about the team's chemistry at this point, and Anthony has been fine since the middle of August. Hopefully things continue along this line. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

![]() Quotes from the Araton article that generated around 13 pages.
If You Read Phil Jackson’s Mind what, exactly, was Phil Jackson trying to tell him? http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/16/sports/basketball/if-you-read-phil-jacksons-mind-carmelo-anthony-is-in-small-type.html?_r=0 And he wrote in the first person as Phil Jackson's mind!
