I agree. It's like nobody has ever heard of help defense. Everyone knows that Calderon will need help from the other 4 on the court when he's in there so there's plenty of ways to give him help defensively when he's out there.
Yes. Help in a TEAM defensive scheme can be effective. We have the rim protection and PnR defensive bigs. Afflalo, Jerian, Gallo, Early and Thanasis if he makes it, could all give some help defensively. As mentioned using some zone can also hide Jose for stretches of a game so he's not always exposed.
