Numbers mean something, but they don't mean everything. Results matter more, and there's no arguing with Eli's results: 2 chips and counting.
Yea, it's why Flacco got his deal:
Joe Flacco signed a 6 year, $120,600,000 contract with the Baltimore Ravens, including a $29,000,000 signing bonus, $29,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $20,100,000. In 2015, Flacco will earn a base salary of $4,000,000 and a signing bonus of $7,000,000. Flacco has a cap hit of $14,550,000 while his dead money value is $36,400,000.
Eli will get his money, no doubt about it.
Whether he's deserving of it, is up for debate (hint: he's not deserving of it, like Flacco).
He's not in the same class of pure QB as Rogers, Peyton, Brees, Brady. But this is what the market dictates for a superbowl winner at the most important position.
