The whole triangle word is over saturated with the Knicks. All of a sudden is outdated and "you need the right players to run it"....let's not be ignorant.

When we won 54 games, our leadership was impeccable. Alot of our players got hurt and hit the wall because they were close to 40 years old. To run strict isolation offense you need strong leadership or else the floor falls through like it did the following season.

The Knicks had zero leadership Woodson last year and beginning last season. Our talent gave up on the team. We got rid of them and got higher charecter guys and then all of a sudden we could watch a game without throwing up.

anyway, the triangle creates opportunities to isolate and better spacing. It also provides the isolator options because you know where guys are going to go if they cut. That's the Shaq and Jordan role. There's also plenty of opportunities for pick and roll. The offense has the 2 man game option where its straight pick and roll. That's kobe and Pippen role.

To enjoy what's going on you have to stop thinking that frank isola is so funny on bleacher report. Stop reading the post and their garbage. Get back to being your own expert. That was the ny way. Understand what you are looking at and then judge. Too much mob mentality opinions.

Woodson essentially lost his team in December when Dolan decided to hand the team over to Phil..I'm sure the players/organization got wind of what was happening..They all knew Phil was running the triangle..That's like saying you and your girlfriend broke up because she had someone else's baby...I'm sure shet went down when you found out she was pregnant for some one else nine months earlier...

Woodson was a dead man walking way before then. he wanted vets and got none when the season started. There was no B-Diddy's, or Mike Bibby's, or even a jeffries no Sheed Kurt or Camby either. ironically there isnt any now.

Dolan was pissed the old guys broke down at the end of the year..He want a young roster...Well he got it last year...

Lol wut?

Phil and Mills are preaching youth to Dolan..

With the Brooklyn Nets having won the offseason with several franchise-changing moves and Dolan still bitter about a second-round playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers, the impulsive owner of the Knicks decided it was time for a shakeup.

Warkentien’s link to Camby can hurt him just as Woodson’s link to Rasheed Wallace does not bode well. Dolan was upset that the Knicks placed too much faith in older players last season, only to see them fade either before or during the playoffs. Woodson pushed for the club to sign Wallace, who was eventually forced to retire with a foot injury. Kurt Thomas was released after sustaining a broken foot and Camby was seldom used.

Meanwhile, Jason Kidd struggled during the playoffs and eventually retired — only to resurface as head coach of the Nets, a move that likely didn’t sit well with Dolan, either.

Mills got the job in September after the 54 win season, before the start of the next season...Phil, essentially in December...Dolan is an idiot...

Phil is all about the youth!!!..Didn't Phil say recently he was doing the job he was hired for??

The problem was that that team was built for a short term run and it made the run and ran its course and needed to be re-built. Tyson was checked out. Iman wasn't developing here. Felton was done. Kidd became a coach. Sheed retired. Amar'e and Pablo were too old to be counted on. JR was too dumb to be counted. That season was lightning in a bottle. A lot of fun. I think the following season, 2013-14, wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't traded Novak (and picks) for Bargnani. That trade accelerated the decline.

If anything, that 2012-13 season shows that Melo is a dynamic offensive force and if you build the right kind of team around him, it can play very well. They have rim protection again in RoLo, O'Quinn, Seraphin, KP6. They have some bigs who can score, they have some guards who can shoot and penetrate and make the right pass. I worry we have a lack of shooting on the wing, but otherwise, I think it's a pretty solid collection of talent that may be able to surprise some folks and win 45 games or more if things break right.

I agree. This team has some important aspects to it that should make it very competitive this season. IMO the size and toughness of the team is one very important factor. We've got some bigs that won't back down and will put up stiff resistance to opposing teams inside. I think this team will have just enough offensive punch when paired with an improved defense.
