Thumpo has ridiculous athletic abilities that Rodman couldn't even dream of having.

Phil's been looking for a Rodman-like player to add to the mix, and I think he hoped Thanasis would bring something like this to the Knicks. Unfortunately, he is no Rodman, whatever athletic abilities he might have.
EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I'd say it's probably between TA and Saunders. Saunders looks like a big sturdy wing that can shoot it; TA's an athletic hustle wing that can defend. Real contrast between the two players. Saunders was a good 3-pt shooter in college but just looking at tape, I question whether he has enough quickness, agility and athleticism for the pro game. H2O wasn't the quickest player at that position either in his day but he more than made up for it in offensive skill--I don't know if Saunders is on that level. TA on the other hand has great athleticism and is a willing defender but isn't up to par skill-wise offensively (although I'd argue he's not as far off offensively as some think). Interested to see these guys show their stuff and if it does come down to these two for the last spot, which one's skill set the Knicks deem more important. I know if we don't sign TA, we still retain his rights but I could see that becoming a problem (if he doesn't make the roster, I could see him requesting a trade. He won't want to go back to Westchester again). I like what I've seen outta Darion Atkins but you figure he was just eliminated when we picked up Seraphin. We'll see though..

We are talking about a guy that was not a force in DL and one of the best rebounders in the history? Sorry to say but Thanasis is years from being Rodman and not sure he can be one.

I think Phil is looking for a guard who can do more and has a higher BB IQ at this point. I could be wrong but it would seem that Thanasis is in a tough spot.

The kid just happens to be a few inches too short, and he doesn't appear to be one of the high IQ ballers that Phil likes. If he were a Rodman type of cat, the decision would have been much simpler.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

N'Dour was a better player and we let him go. We shouldn't sign this guy.

We can wait for Thanasis until he develops.....but i dont think he will wait for us. And i dont think he should.

I expect Giannes to sign a LONG TERM DEAL with The Bucks, with a 4-5year extension when he is eligible for it
Instead of trading for AB, we could have possibly moved up to draft him with those assets, or drafted Gobert instead of Tim Hardaway JR

It would be sometimes after 2020 season,
However, we should time it so when he is a UFA, that he will be in our radar with Thanasis on our roster as leverage (with an extension)
For that reason we should keep him on our roster, IMO
They both also have a younger brother, though it seems Giannes with the playmaking abilities of Lebron/Magic Johnson with Durant length/athleticism but with Lebron's LOCKDOWN DEFENSE and VERSATILITY POTENTIAL

I do think Thanasis is worthy of a roster spot over a couple of our FA though we have his rights, maybe letting him go over seas isn't such a bad thing, in another 1year or 2years, timing it with a multiyear deal with Giannes as a UFA

Along with the 40m in salary jump that we could spend in FA,
With the way Phil Jackson put this roster together, it seems that he believes it will take at least 2-3years when Affalo/Derrick Williams would expire, before he expects to fully contend and execute the Triangle

i think he's the dirty work type of player we need when shots are not falling. defense is his strong suit and he's super cheap...so why not?
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree
