He did it so well that his contemporaries awarded him for it. He gets more hits being negative than being positive. He isn't in it for the love of the Knicks or the fans he is in it for the love of Isola. Isola wants this organization to fail and he is going to do this by ridiculing every move and person. This is happening because he wasn't allowed for MSG functions.

He does his job so well he even got me to respond to him on Twitter. He has an opinion that requires attention, it only matters if you give it the attention. When you write about someone this is exactly what he wants. Let's not talk about it lets not think about it and just move on. If you know what his intention and you already know he brings nothing to the table but garbage about the Knicks why bother reading his material.

Absolutely right.

Bleacher report is the only reason I see him. I blocked him from twitter and o haven't bought a news paper I years

Until the Knicks put something resembling a decent team, all the "haters" are absolutely right. Isola, Berman, Araton, Lupica, O'Connor, Begley, Stephen A, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Bill Simmons, etc....

Prove them wrong on the court then you'll get the praise you deserve. Until that happens, nothing they say is off limits or wrong in my book.

Thing is nobody is looking for praise. Just information. He is one of the main sources of negativity, but this is his turf. He's been here. He should care about the ny part of the deal. He doesn't. He's like ****ting. Where he sleeps

+1

My favorite Knicks beatwriter for the last 20yrs. Even though I hate the Daily News. A true Knick fan.

His articles early on is a big reason I became more than just the average Knick fan. That and meeting Clyde at 10 and the greatness of Patrick Ewing.

I wish him luck and Inhole the Red Bulls get Super Mario Botelli!

Isola came on when we were in High school. I felt the same way back then but nowadays he's garbage.

The Knicks are an expansion franchise and the joke of the entire league. What's the guy supposed to say? IF there is something to be positive about, i am sure he will be. But, when you have an owner that makes it hard for the media to do their job and puts the nba's worst product or close too it on the floor the last 15 years while charge the 2nd highest ticket prices in the league what do you expect.

It's no fair going into every season praying for a playoff birth.

The fans hold the team accountable. The beat writer can do what he wants but his job is to report not sensationalized drama

I think Isola is honest. And he's given props when they've been good.

If there's a curse at MSG it is spelled D-O-L-A-N. Or possibly I-S-I-A-H. These names should not be spoken out loud.

Don't forget Layden too!

Honesty is needed. Authenticity is another.

I hate when people find excuses though. Dolan shut isola out, ok well try writing for the red bulls or the nycsc...isola is a soccer guy anyway

Starphuchedness is the curse. Thinking one can turn it around quickly and motivated by fear of a declining revenue stream has been the curse. Fear of renovation and the team not selling out was the curse.

All the while fans love the knicks and a rebuild would have been fine. Phil brings cred to sell a tank and rebuild so hopefully better days ahead. Dolan two years ago paid consultants big money and it seems he was told to stay away and let basketball people handle basketball issues!!!

The curse was broken when Phil took over. Not becuase he was another savior, because he has the cred to not be afraid of making mistakes!

I wanna give the new guy Stefan Bondy the credit. I like the fact he's Filip's son. Kinda gives a link to the good old days. A new Era is upon us

Truth. Applies to fans as well.

Dont be a tool. Isola is a paid writer. Fans have been stuck with the King idiot dolan---its not their fault the guy is as dumb as nails. I guess when your 5'5 and have to look up at everyone-- you'd have a complex too right?

He's paid to cover the knicks, not ply the standard NYC anti-homer BS ad nauseum. When you can't write anything positive, isn't it time to move on? Go move to a city and an owner and a paper in Santone or Dallas. WTF do little men issues have to do with a a tool writer who's only concern is bullspit negativity?

I like Isola - agree he's negative toward the Knicks/Dolan but they've had 1 or 2 decent seasons in the past 13 years. I guess my pain lives vicariously through his writing...

Used to Enjoy reading Isola. Was one of the first to single out Dolan, and didn't pull any punches. Now reading his column, it feels like Isola has put any pretense of evenhandedness in the trash.

Let's be truthful, the Knicks really havent done anything to warrant constant praise and positive aspects. If anyone is saying isola doesnt cover the Knicks then that isnt true. he made it clear since the draft he is a fan of Porzingis, but doesnt particularly care for our free agency. I dont either. Win some games, lets see if he writes about them. i do think alot of his opinions are in twitter form, and he has a huge following.

I agree with you to an extent. The Knicks haven't given reason for praise. But I don't think they warrant total disrespect either and Isola has been more disrespectful than a journalist. When does he take a little hit for creating a situation where FAs don't want to be here because of the spiteful media. The Knicks took FAs they could get.

So the choices are either constant praise or total negativity.

Let's see what happens if we win more than 17 games this season.

isola covers the NBA as well, not exactly sure how a player can really avoid his criticism. as far as the free agents go, the ones the Knicks missed out on all chose "playoff" teams. had the Knicks made the playoffs and still signed none of the bigger free agents, I'd say look for another reason. Once the team starts to win, then we can judge on why players come or not.
