+1

Getting Grant in the same draft as a potential game changer like Porzingis is gravy. At worst Jerian looks like he will be a reliable but not flashy PG, like Charlie Ward was for years. His upside looks like that of a top ten PG

what would be the limiting factor keeping him from that? He was a star in ND... what wont carry over?

travis ford was a star at kentucky. Does not carry over to the NBA 99% of the time (to become an all star)

for starters, we should hope that he is a positive rotation player that plays some defense. Whats wrong with that being are expectations?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I hope Grant makes the most useful basketball player of the three. IDGARA about stupid popularity contests.

Mudiay is athletic, but isn't john wall or Russell Westbrook athletic imo and he can't shoot.

I don't know if any of them will be an All-Star. But I know Grant can be a solid starting PG. Mudiay may be an All-Star if he learns to hit open shots, and Russell probably will get to All-Star level being in LA and given his college production, but he has a long way to go. It is way to soon to be trying to predict who will become an All-Star. I think they all will be productive players, and I think the drop-off between Grant and the other two will not be as far off as the scouts think. I saw the video of Grant scoring like 12 points in 20 secs to try and win a game. The kid is a baller who will be like a Chauncey Billups-type. Not flashy or overly athletic, but solid all around and clutch in the 4th quarter.

Yeah I mean Jerian has proven he can lead a team to success. He almost got his team past Kentucky. It was tooth and nail in the last minutes of that game and he was the leader of his squad on the floor. He has that kind of experience and confidence of a leader.

That was a great game and I really wanted Kentucky to lose despite wanting to see a Towns/Okafor matchup.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Mudiay and Bobby Portis would give us the better team this year though...
I would rather have KP in this system, though I would rather have KP, Bobby Portis, and Shved/Galloway/Calderon and FA running the PG
I am not too fond of PICK 35 either, Norman Powell or someone that can contribute and develop right now has more value than Willy, his T-Rex Arms, and his 2inch vertical jump, IMO

I do not know how people can say Grant is the 2nd best PG in this draft...
There is Mudiay, Russell, even Cameron Payne that have higher upside than Grant

Out of the TOP 10 drafted, Stanley Johnson is the player that is the most NBA READY NOW and has a HIGH POTENTIAL

Grant was a steal for Tim Hardaway JR but there were other options at 19th as well

You shouldn't evaluate KP and Grant vs JUST MUDIAY and without PICK 19

Shouldn't the comparison be Porzingis and Mudiay (Russell wasn't even available) since you are basically just wanting to say we should have picked Mudiay? You're always so busy trying to make a point disguised as a question, the whole thing is just a waste of time. Why not just say: I think we should have drafted Mudiay and state your case- that's much more engaging than some BS thread pretending to be something it isn't.

Fortunately for you, I am an even dumber GM- I am hopeless when it comes to scouting. Muddily was better than I expected, but maybe that comparison with Chauncy Billups was quite accurate in terms of his ceiling. Russell has major red flags at the moment.

You pegged FW exactly. I also wanted to pick Mudiay, but if KP was the BPA then I am fully on board. He certainly is a better fit for our needs. And I have been quite impressed with his defensive effort. Overall very happy, regardless of Mudiay (unless he turns into the next MJ, then I'll be bummed)

Lol Moonangie, I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about Mudiay turning into the next Michael Jordan...

Mudiay shoots 14% from long range in summer league against dleague competition. Even Rondo is better than that.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

That's an extremely small sample size.
