I see what Crzy is saying. We need a guard to emerge as a 6th man type off the bench. I don't think that is Galloway.

Then again they might have enough bench scoring if DW steps up

Thomas was a sure thing reserve and they had no way of knowing a kid like NDour would take to this like a fish in water. I'm sure they liked him or they wouldn't have invited him to be on the SL team. Still it was a bird in the hand kind of thing I think with Thomas. It still doesn't preclude them from bringing in NDour if they really like him.

There was absolutely no rush to sign Amundson and Thomas before we evaluated guys on our own SL team and on other SL teams in general. It was a mistake. Point blank. We jumped the gun big-time. -2 on roster flexibility now when we should be +4 total. We can bring in Ndour, in fact I think we should, but now that's at the expense of either a versatile guard that can play both spots can handle and facilitate a little -- I think Elliot Williams would be perfect now that Shved and Hackett are no longer options) or a legit backup C (maybe Galdikas who I'm dying to see play). And this is assuming Ledo's back who has a guaranteed anyway--I'd like to have someone with more size and more scoring prowess behind Afflalo. Ledo fits the bill here.

How was it a mistake if they wanted to bring them back for what they brought to the team culture. Those guys are who they wanted for the culture they are building. Phil and Fisher both said many many times they didn't want to bring in nine new guys. Continuity is important in the NBA. Galloway, Amundson, Thomas offer that.

Ledo? He ain't that good if you ask me. Everytime I watch him play, he doesn't impress.

I like that kid Ndour; I hope we cut Calderon and keep Ndour, Kirk and offer Elliot Williams a contract

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

That is exactly what energy guys do. They play hard both in practice and in the games and are really good team plsyers/lockerokm guys. They are not special triangle or no trisngle. I've said it should million times that tenderness so possibility that none of the energy guys whok were forwards would show out and surprise surprise somebody did. If we were sign ndour, we now have to move amundson to the 3rd string c position;thus, taking away the possibility of strengthening our center or guard depth. Phil jumped the gun on this one.

1: Calderon, Grant
2: Afflalo, Galloway
3: Melo, Early, Thomas
4: Porzingis, Williams, Amundson
5: RLopez, O'Quinn, N'Dour

That's 13, if they cut Ledo and sign N'Dour. I wouldn't mind Wear, but looking at the big men corps, it's getting a little crowded in there. I don't get the Alex Kirk love, frankly. I only caught half the LAL game so far, but he did not impress last night.

I think they need a SG and a PG for the last two spots.

I wouldn't mind that D-League guy... Elliot? Also, Scottie Wilbekin looked decent last night.

I sort of think that looking at the roster they might not give up on Ledo yet, but I have not seen anything from Ledo that makes me think he will "get it" any time soon.

Also, major props to Early for improving some things. He looks like he should be Melo's backup right now, as opposed to looking like a pile of hot mess. Maybe the injuries were holding him back?

1. Whos thomas?
2. wilbekin had a nice game, but it was just that....1 game
3. Everyone here wants wear out, he did nothing last year and still looks pretty insignificant on the court

Yes it was just one game for Scottie Wilbekin but the game before he had 19 points also if you look at his greace number it looks good Plus if you look at what he did in Australia he was the club MVP as a rookie and also the club Defensive Player of the Year as a rookie on top of that he led the team to the playoffs for the first time in 4 years so yeah he had a good game but I'm putting together a good resume for a 22 year old.

He also was all league1st team

If we cut Calderon we have two pgs( if you consider Galloway a pg) and two guards going into next season with williams and affalo and afflalo(since you dint like Ledo). I hope we stay away from kirk for now to be honest.

At the very least Kirk should be in our D-league. NDOUR NEEDS TO BE SIGNED
If you ask me im ready to let go of Thomas,
Ledo is 6'7 could play 2/3

Not sure what you meant early on but I agree with the bolded part. Absolutely, Phil jumped the gun!! Look--the man's done a decent job restocking the cupboard--and I give him credit for that. But the Amudson and LT signings were completely unnecessary. It's gonna wind up costing us one of the following: Ndour, Galdikas (we haven't see him yet but I think he's got the size and skills to help us plus we don't have a LEGIT backup C on the roster, only guys we could put there to fill in) or an extra guard with some versatility. When Calderon either breaks down or isn't bringin' it and when Galloway pulls his best Toney Douglas/Chris Duhon impersonation, everyone's gonna be screaming for some extra backcourt help man, I'm telling you!

29 other teams HAD ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in signing Amundson and Thomas
Phil beat himself to the punch

Rolo goes down...WE HAVE A PROBLEM
grant's transition against NBA PG's is slow...WE HAVE A PROBLEM

Amundson and Thomas make a minimal contribution to the win/loss column

We have the worst backcourt in the NBA

we have to show that if you just taste the triangle, even if you are terrible at it or just plain stink, we will sponsor your year.

good selling point for others to try the triangle.

INCENTIVIZATION

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Bravo! Couldn't agree more!! Bunch of smart guys on this board man, good basketball guys. I can't believe some are even arguing this. You want a couple of extra practice players, go down to the YMCA and give 2 guys 50 bucks apiece. I mean WTF are we talking about here?!? I wouldn't even let Grant and Zinger carry the luggage -- Amundson and LT should be doing that. LOL. Seriously, there's no need for these guys -- the guys that I'd love to finish off this roster with -- Ledo, Ndour, Galdikas, and 1 more versatile guard -- these guys would fulfill everything Amundson and LT do plus so much more. These are guys with NBA futures, not scrubs barely hanging on by their teeth. If something happened and we had to tap the reserve guys down at the end of the bench -- who would you wanna watch play -- Ndour, Galdikas and maybe Elliot Williams or Lou Amundson and LT? You know my answer..

Roster shaping up, but I think need another guard
