How many people want to see Ndour signed to a 2-4 year rookie contract? I really want to keep him--I dont want to take any chances with verbal agreements or letting him go overseas. Id like him to stay here build chemistry and he looks like he can play NBA basketball right now.
Sign him dont take any chances he deserves to be a Knick now
Let him go to Europe gain a few pounds and hone skills then look in a year
I dont want him at all

Just saying.

But back to Ndour. Wow. We probably just saw the game of his career - shows that he's clutch. Balkman on steroids, Faried, maybe Shawn Marion upside. The disruptive capability of a young Worm. Team mentality.

I think he can capably fill in what Q Acy showed us last year, probably with more upside. Acy's problem (and a challenge with his sort of game) is that he runs a fairly high risk of being injured every minute he's on the floor.

Shumpert is counting his lucky stars. cavs will regret that contract
Gerald green is better than shump...but im not a GM

Ndour is more of a faried, if he can make that midrange like clockwork,he'll be really good
Think of haslem a few yrs back....

Defense got the Cavs to the Finals..They completely shut down ATL to get to the Finals..Perimeter defenders are invaluable in today's game..Resigning Shump was a no brainer...

no brainer? not sure about that. Tough call at best.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

You had to fall in love with the guy after he blocked OK4's shot, and then came down to the other end, and with OK4 guarding him did a jab/step back move and finished with a 15 foot jumper. If that had been a sequence in a playoff game in the Garden the roof would have blown off.

My hope is that he and Phil have an agreement where he plays overseas, and is brought back next year. Phil and Ndour's agent seem to be on good terms, and Ndour has some NY roots.

If other teams come into play with offers you have to sign him and deal with the roster consequences or imbalance.

My working hypothesis is that Gaines, who probably scouted him at Portsmouth, has convinced Jackson that Ndour will someday be our version of Rodman. Maybe they've convinced Ndour, too.

If he plays overseas and comes back next year with Hernangomez, it will be like we had two #1s in next year's draft. They will replace Thomas and Amundson, most likely.

Once again, by the way, you are seeing Phil looking to bring into the fold a kid who seems to be a high character person and player, with an international background, a solid family structure, and a lot of intelligence. You also had to be impressed with the modest interview he gave after the game, yesterday.

Also read on RealGM that he might be a vegetarian. This alone makes him a "must have" for me.

NDour is a perfect fit IMO. He's got that energy we need. He's got skill, BB IQ and nice long athletic body. What's not to like?

He's a better more athletic version of Aminu. Also reminds me of Jordan Mickey but has a better shot.

The kid is looking ready now, no reason to let him go overseas. I think the whole overseas thing is all about that he isn't going to play in the D-League and has offers to play overseas. I didn't read where he had signed any overseas offers, just that he wasn't going to play in the D-League. I think he is showing NBA talent, and not just in one game, he has gotten progressively better with each game. But if you don't sign the kid on talent and potential alone, he looks to be another character guy and he lives in Rochester.

I like NDour, I like him as an addition to our frontcourt, he fits the identity that we are developing with tough defensive guys Kris/RoLo/KOQ/NDour, we have an identity forming now. I love it, we have a clearer vision of what it is that we want to do and everyone knows their role.

Kid brings energy, hops, D, personality and has a J that isnt a surprise if you look at his college tapes. He's a 3/4

More of a 4. can play 5 if we go small like GS did with green

I see Ndour as a young Kurt Thomas - I think he can play a lot of undersized 5. As our third string center, I don't think he'd need to, but I think it is possible.

I don't see KT at all. This guy is an athlete.

I compared him to KT wallets s well but only because of the height. His reach and hops will far surpass KT. Question is will he be able to hold his position in the paint as well add KT did?

Resigning Shump at that contract shows they have no brains.

This was th r first thing that came to mind when i was thinking on how wecould fit him here. Except it was thomas and not amundson however, I then thought that it wouldn't be a very professional thing to do. Give an Nba journeyman a spot on this team and giving them a decent role for the team making the client very happy only to be waived?

He may not be ready to help, but it's a good idea to lock him up while we can.

KT40 was incredible in college. I believe he was the only d1 player in history at the time to lead the nation in scoring and rebounding in the same year.

Two broken ankles later and you had the ground bound skilled role playing Kt40 on the Knicks we knew and loved. (In his rookie year I thought Miami and my fantasy league team had picked up the next Karl Malone)

I'm psyched by watching Ndour. Runs the floor with power. A power 3. Maybe he's more Anthony Bonner than Faried. Depends on how he develops and evolves.

Travis Outlaw was waived last season for Travis Wear. The same can happen to Lou Amundson if Maurice Ndour is invited and outplays him. Can save the Knicks some money

sign him to the D league.

folks this is the SUMMER league. several players are going to look good or bad.

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Not true. There were 3 people that did that- led the NCAA in scoring and rebounding in the same year. Xman, Hank Gathers and KT

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate
