Exactly right. Bottom line is the development of this franchise is solely based on KP. He represents the next potential star here. It's all on his development where we go in the next 5 years.

We are a league of copy cats..The entire league is now running pick and rolls and shooting threes..LeBron and Moz post play almost took down the best three point shooting team in the NBA...Everyone doesn't have to do it to validate it..The masses are usually arses...

Let's not forget the high level defense that GS played. Everything was contested, while on the offensive side, GS moved the ball to the open man. Their 3 point shots went uncontested.

The 70's team roots was planted when 22 Willis was drafted in 1964. Kip only 19. Takes time.

I would have tried to get back at least one or starters when I got rid of Chandler, Felton, Amare, Shump, JR, and Prigs..It presents a better case for free agents..No one of value will consider at 17 win team with one NBA caliber starter...

Of this whole list of players, the only one that was worth pursuing might have been Shumpert, with his inconsistent ass game. Amar'e is one sharp turn from falling apart. Prigs was a favorite, but has little thread wear on the tires. JR was a BUM, Felton fell apart and Chandler was always sick/hurt/disgruntled. Let's start from where we are at, instead of living in revisionist history.

I agree that, as goes KP,so goes the Knicks. But we also have a new nucleus of young plares, a draft pick coming in next year(Hermangomez) and our 1st round draft picks starting in '17. We a re easily headed in a better direction than we were.

Not true..Cleveland would have paid a fortune for Chandler if he was still on the Knicks..They gave up two first round picks for Moz..Chandler just got 52 mil from PHX..

Almost?

Lebron himself took over a game or two, which is more a testament to how freaking good his is than validating the value of post play.

But if you want a championship, it wont happen letting role players touch the ball on consistent basis. That's just the truth.

Did you think we were magically going to go from losing to a championship? How are we supposed to aquire these 3 stars of which you speak? You don't think the most successful teams had 5 hardworking guys? Really? What do you think Draymond Green and Iggy were this season other than excellent role players?

I wonder which former poster you are...

Which is also true..One being true doesn't invalidate the other..Moz isn't a great post player by any means yet he gave GS fits inside...A center with post moves could have changed the outcome is the point...

Chicken little may be better for you than the fantasy your in now. Phil just spent all this money based on an ego that thinks he can win games based on his system and diamonds in the rough instead of proven players. We both know what the truth is. Unlike you, I am tired of all those who have been blind to see it for the last 15 years. But your right, lets talk in March and see how Knicks did.

And chicken little suits you fine. The sky's been falling for 15 years <--- this is your truth.
We have a real, live basketball legend running the show for less than two years. <--- this is reality, not fantasy.
Full tear down and rebuild, featuring many yoots now in place.
No throwing away of 1st round draft picks for this year's rudy gay or last year's Jamal Crawford.

Chicken little prefers the knee jerk signings of the past regimes, apparently.

Excellent Post!!! It's strange that now that we finally are doing things the right way there are some who can't see that things have changed for the better. Phil has this team making logical moves and even the moves some hate the most are not franchise killing moves.

Phil has been adding young talent thru the draft and UDFA's and also FA. Things are still set up for being active in 2016 FA. This is proper running of a franchise. I have no idea what major complaint there can be with how things have gone so far. There was no KD or Lebron available to us this summer in FA. For the most part Phil spent wisely. Sure you can quibble with a DWill but overall it's not the end of the world. We got some real talent in the draft. The upside on this roster is pretty exciting as we've seen in Summer League.

None of us really know what they would have given up for Chandler...do we.

There may have been another dynamic involved in getting rid of Chandler, too- team chemistry type stuff- but who knows.

Blatt had a history with Mosgov, by the way- coached him, I think, and he cost a lot less and they have him for another year. Do you have any proof that they would have taken Chandler over Mosgov other than a personal opinion?

With Chandler on the team there would have been no tank run. We had a realistic chance for a top 2 pick for most of the year. The Cav's picks are basically glorified #2 picks, to be honest.

If we had finished with the #2, where we should have finished, Phil would have probably taken OK4...

...Would you have been happy with him and Grant, or would you rather have had us get the 13th or 14th pick and end up wit Lyles/Grant and a couple of 29th picks in the future?

Seems like we've been running a different form of the offense in SL.

Perhaps you should hold off with the That 70's Show routine and see what changes will be made this year with a better cast of characters.

I would have been happy if we had pieces in place to attract legitimate free agents...Lopez and Afflalo were on the bench for Portland most 4th quarters during the last playoffs..That's nothing to be excited about..

We have to rebuild one way or the other..Phil is on the fence..It won't be thru free agency..But might as well bite the bullet and stop adding salary for the sake of just adding bodies..

Yeah the tweaks look good. People just assumed that Fish would not be able to tweak the offense but he had started introducing different things last year. I think now he has a much quicker version of the offense that pushes the pace, takes advantage of early offense, more Screens and PnR actions but still has the Triangle stuff later in the possession. There's still tons of ball and player motion which is the point of the Triangle.

Think last year was a bad example as Knicks ran a straight forward Triangle with not much deviation. Probably due to the level of talent. This year there seems to have added a few more ways to get into it. Although it would have been nice to see KP isolated a bit more as he can take bigger centers off the drible. However, we did win first three so I guess you can't argue with it.
