Because they both have similar natural defensive athleticism. ....but Ndour plays taller...is taller and a little longer.....but the surprise is that he has a jumpshot. So hes not a liability on offense but he brings rodman type intangles.....and energy.
Participated in the Portsmouth tournament, but was not great statistically. That is where Gaines saw Galloway last year.
Its not impossible to imagine that he saw some Rodman-like qualities or potential in the games he saw him play in.
43% from the college 3pt line, and 78+% from the FT line, with both increasing nicely from his first year at Ohio, so he seems to have a good mechanical foundation as a shooter. Just turned 23.
Starts as a high energy "niche" defense first reserve and who knows what he becomes as he matures as a player.
Pleasantly surprised so far...hope he continues to surprise.

Will be able to curse out opposition players and refs with relative impunity, I would think.
The Senegal to Japan move is strange- of course he was probably the tallest guy in any game he played in over there.
