We had a chance at drafting an elite athlete in Stein, but you were very much against the kid. The Knicks made a huge mistake in my opinion with Porzingis; specifically, given how poorly we have been when it comes to signing good FAs. We had an opportunity to draft a freakish athlete in Stein and Lyles or Booker.
Yeah, Stein/Booker would have been a MUCH bigger FA magnet than Porzingis/Grant.
You are aware that one lottery team took Stein off their list because of his injury, and two others just passed him medically. It's also been reported that the Kings took him as bone for Cousins after the Lakers trade talk fiasco and the Karl power play. Do you think Karl would rather have a Turner or a Kaminsky instead of Stein? The Kings also said they passed on Mudiay because he refused to work out for them or take a physical with them.
Stein is in a perfect situation with the Kings, just like Kentucky. He has some good PGs, two guys in Cousins and Gay who will take about 40 shots/game, and a coach who has a track record of dealing well with big guys with a lot of tattoos.
He's in a great situation, and hopefully his injury is not an issue for him in the future, but the draft is now over.
EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
