OK...since I gotta post it here.....

Sorry to pull you guys from your Ariza conversation...

Z trade rumour reported on ESPNEWS....

Z to the Knicks for KT and another player....

pulled up their Cavs get, Knicks get proposed trade breakdown screen.....they didn't just glance over it while showing clips...

Maybe KT and Deke? However it won't work on realgm...not enough money....what would work is KT and Eddie Robinson.....should work...KT and JYD might work (JYD makes a little less than Eddie)

I would think they'd want Nazr. I'd fine with doing that considering how badly it looks like we're gonna fleece Chicago. Bring back Baker and Doleac as some one has suggested to play backup PF and C.

I wonder if the Z trade and the Crawford trade is linked to Cleveland as a 3-wayer. Crawford would have Base Year salary issues to contend with and Cleveland could help that out with their $3M in salary cap room. I wouldn't be surprised.

Nazr doesn't make enough money to match the salaries....

I think they reported it as a player to be named later (that's how it was reported, I think)...means a player we don't have yet....maybe KT and Eddie Robinson...they should work...

Hmm...a player to be named definitely makes it seem as if its someone we dont have yet. I guess they have Battie and Diop as playable centers, though I think Nazr would be an upgrade over them. If its Eddie Robinson that's fine...Penny needs the minutes backing up SF if Craw is gonna play a backup 2. Ariza is necessary to keep on the roster as well.

So a 3 possible 3 way would like...

Knicks get: Crawford, Jerome Williams, Ilgauskas, Chris Jeffries?
Cleveland gets: KT and Eddie Robinson (maybe some PG help too?)
Chicago gets: Shandon, FW, Moochie, Othella, Trybanski (maybe FW or Mooch goes to Cleveland?)

We're absolutely killing the other two teams involved. There are only 3 real legit, major players in this deal and we are getting 2.

Sign and trade for Boozer? Sometimes talks are smokescreened.

If I am Paxon, I try to make something out of it. Booze burned his bridges in Clev.

We send all our garbage plus KT for Craw and Big Z. Sounds too good.

I think Clev might need to clear some cap to resign Booze and both kiss and make up, put a good spin on things. Maybe we take big z and help a brother out.

A 3 way is too complicated with this type of deal, IMHO....Actually it is weird....

ESPNews reported it as a player to be named later (or announced) and pulled up that breakdown screen (you mknow the one they pull down when trades are done and we get to see who got what) that said proposed trade on the byline...then in the next loop of reports (you know how it repeats itself?) Nothing was said about the trade at all.... It was weird...

Z fits becasue he is still young, has great size and can dominate in the East.

Z does not fit becasue he is not athletic and is injury prone.

I do not think he fits Isiah's plan for the team, although he can stick the pick and roll jumper and can play down low.

If Ny can get him for KT and filler and pull off the other trade for Crawford,ER and JYD then, it would be great!!! Add to this that the MLE and LLE would still be available, NY would be well on their way to cahllenging for the East crown with or without Shaq.

I would like to see Nazr staying on. he is a nice backup C/PF.

The guy I really want to see is Swift as a backup PF/C. He is a defensive force!

If this trade goes down for Crawford, how much time will Penny get? Assuming TT is the SF at 30-35 per night, Penny will only get 10-15 per night. For 13M that is not alot of burn!

damn, we are gonna be pretty deep with these trade and have roster space to sign and resign some players. Miami is real thin right now, they lost raefer too. and they gonna have a 2nd year player (udonis ) playing pf. damn isiah looks so smart right now, first marbury, then trevor, and now 2 big name players. and if this goes down, we have 4 huge expirng contrats next next year-penny, 'gazy, Erob, and Zill.

Actually, Z is an expiring contract this year. IF the Knicks acquire him, though, I expect he'll get an extension.

whether he's signed to an extension or not, like i keep saying, it's all about getting the right pieces so you can make future deals to improve the team...Z would be a nice piece to have at the trade deadline, whether he fits into Isiah's future plans or not...you could get alot more for him in a trade than you could for KT imho...which makes this trade a no brainer & a half...if Isiah chooses to sign him to an extension, then that wouldn't be the end of the world either since he'd provide a low post scoring presence we haven't had since Ewing & LJ left.

I hate to bring the bad news, but I don't think we could send JYD or E Rob along w/ kurt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a rule where you can't trade a recently traded player within 60 days unless he's traded with another player from the orginal trade or by himself?

I thought he could be traded within 48 hours of the previous trade, which is why Rasheed Wallace was dealt twice.

I seem to remember that you can place a certain title on someone and trade them right away. I remember Danny Manning being traded right away years ago. But if not, 60 days from now is September. I mean lets say its E Robinson, all parties know he's the player and plan accordingly. He's still there in time for training camp. I say we throw in Moochie Norris and take back Kevin Ollie. Kevin is much better defensively and will be a much better pratice, spot defense player. The contract is longer but its small. I mean ESPN doing the trade screen makes me feel this trade has already happened. Unless Carlos Boozer takes the 5 Million for one year Cleveland offers.

Im not into Ilgauskas, but its one year, he's a true center and can block shots. And Sweetney should just start, with JYD backing him up. Id also rather have Ilgauskas rather than Antoine Walker or Stromile Swift.

the thing about Ilgauskas vs. dampier is that his game is skilled based- he has a sweet shot for the pick and roll and is a nice passer- and his effectiveness (unless he is hurt) will last a lot longer (3-6 years+) than Dampier who might start dropping off because he is more an athlete.

But, can Cleveland really make two bad moves in the same summer?

If Boozier didn't cost him his job, this is proof that paxson needs to go

I think that there are a couple things that are going on with this....KT and Mutumbo do not add up to Z's contract.

New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
C Dikembe Mutombo (5.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 23.0 minutes)
New York receives: C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -1.4 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and -0.9 apg.

Cleveland trades: C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Cleveland receives: C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 80 games)
C Dikembe Mutombo (5.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 65 games)
Change in team outlook: +1.4 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and +0.9 apg.

TRADE DECLINED

Due to Cleveland and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Cleveland and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did not happen here (only Cleveland met the condition). This trade does not satisfy the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

On the other hand..the principles with Eddie Robinson going to Cleveland (I had to use it as a 3 team trade....)

New York trades: SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.6 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 12.8 minutes)
PF Othella Harrington (4.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 15.6 minutes)
C Cezary Trybanski (0.1 ppg, 0.1 rpg, 0.0 apg in 2.1 minutes)
PG Frank Williams (3.9 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 2.2 apg in 12.8 minutes)
New York receives: PF Jerome Williams (6.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.1 minutes)
SG Jamal Crawford (17.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.1 apg in 35.1 minutes)
C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +7.7 ppg, +2.2 rpg, and -0.3 apg.

Chicago trades: SF Eddie Robinson (6.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.1 minutes)
PF Jerome Williams (6.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.1 minutes)
SG Jamal Crawford (17.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.1 apg in 35.1 minutes)
Chicago receives: SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 80 games)
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 66 games)
PF Othella Harrington (4.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 56 games)
C Cezary Trybanski (0.1 ppg, 0.1 rpg, 0.0 apg in 7 games)
PG Frank Williams (3.9 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 2.2 apg in 56 games)
Change in team outlook: -10.2 ppg, -4.4 rpg, and -1.3 apg.

Cleveland trades: C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Cleveland receives: C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 80 games)
SF Eddie Robinson (6.7 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 51 games)
Change in team outlook: +2.5 ppg, +2.2 rpg, and +1.6 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED
