Its been done like 4 times now. Why cant a person make a decision then change his or her mind? That's part of life. I'm sure he had good intentions with Dallas but after thinking about it felt comfortable where he was? No one can blame him for it. While he gave a commitment it was not a signed contract--happens in college basketball all the time.

This isn't college and you are expected to show a certain degree of professional integrity. Especially when there are so many other moves being directly or indirectly impacted by it. When you make this much money you are held to a different standard. There's nothing wrong with that.

I don't understand why people make such a big deal about this.

I think the real story is the disconnect between Jordan and his agent, who evidently has close ties to Dallas.

I'm think his agent tried to talk him in to moving, maybe made it seem as though the Clippers didn't want him back, etc.

I would be crushed if this had happen to us, and I probably wouldn't be able to type these words the same way.

So basically the Clips are holding DeAndre Jordan hostage until he signs his contract? There is no two ways about this, it is ****ing nuts. I never liked the "waiting period" between open negotiations and signing contracts but this has to stop.

Stuff like this can be easily turned on its ear. Who says DeAndre didn't just bluff the a Mavs, a team in the same conference as his team he is "leaving". He holds up Dallas just enough so they miss out on some of their biggest needs and then has an 11th hour change of heart to go back to his old team, and not wanting to have another meeting with the team he shafted, his old team simply won't leave his side until he signs back with a team he never intended to leave.

Not saying this is the case, but will this be viewed as viable FA strategy in the future?

What I am saying is this is a mother****ing circus.

Dude's a grown man. Been in the NBA for a long time. He can't let his agent talk him into being stupid. Because right now be looks extremely stupid. Almost JR smith stupid.

DeAndre Jordan has told the Los Angeles Clippers that he wants to walk away from his new deal to join Dallas Mavericks and stay in Los Angeles, according to league sources.

But sources told ESPN.com that the unprecedented fluidity of Jordan's free agency has convinced the Clippers that they need to stay at Jordan's side until he can formally sign a new contract, given that Jordan has already changed his mind once in his process.

Sources say Jordan, in a Wednesday meeting at his Houston home with several teammates and top team officials, left the Clippers with the clear message that he intends to renege on last Friday's commitment to sign a four-year, $80-plus million max deal with the Mavericks and re-sign a lucrative deal with the Clippers instead.

Yet sources say that the majority of the Clippers' contingent that descended en masse onto Houston to get Jordan back -- which included coach/team president Doc Rivers, owner Steve Ballmer and star teammates Chris Paul and Blake Griiffin -- refused to leave Jordan's house after the conclusion of the meeting. The Clippers' contingent, sources said, is vowing to stay with Jordan until at least 12:01 a.m. ET Thursday, which is the first allowable minute that Jordan can officially sign a new deal with L.A.

Sources say that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and lead Mavericks recruiter Chandler Parsons, meanwhile, now fear they won't even get the chance they were expecting Wednesday night to try to pitch Jordan one more time before he makes his decision, given that the Clippers' traveling party has essentially refused to leave the All-NBA center. Cuban and Parsons arrived Wednesday in Houston along with Jordan's primary agents from Relativity Sports -- Dan Fegan and Jarrin Akana -- who sources say were excluded from the Clippers' early evening meeting with their client.

This **** is crazy. The NBA is going to have to make changes before next summer. If the Mavs lose out, their franchise is screwed.

Ridiculous. there is a rumor the Pacers might try to trade them Hibbert.
