IMO, unless Shved could agree to a short term deal with Knicks, we should just move on, probably even bring back Jeremy Lin if he is willing to come back for less like 3m
No other team could offer Svhed a chance to compete for a STARTING GIG or is he willing to sign a VET min deal to a team like Clippers while learning under CP3 like Darren Collison did
He can play some PG/SG, however, unless he can prove he can be a STARTER with at least average DEFENSE with his size/length, he will get BACKUP MONEY and probably more likely to earn more in Europe
With our injuries, he got a CHANCE to start, but majority of our starters last season are ALL BACKUPS on every other team
However, if he can prove that he could be consistent like he was last season for our system, he would be at least considered for 5m + to as high as 7-8m, as a backup PG/SG
Like Jamal Crawford was for the MLE type money, to a team that could contend NEXT season, with Crawford always known to be a HORRIBLE defender
Though he will need to prove himself as 12 games is even a smaller sample size to what Jeremy Lin did as a Knick
Lin needs to improve his DEFENSE, regain quickness/speed/athleticism/strength, as he dealt with injuries the past year and more and needs to do some serious training that he did prior to The Lockout as well as his other weakness's
He also needs to understand his new role with a team and play on and off the ball more effectively, as he was used as the #1 and #2 option in New York
However, although that team played the right away while lacking talent with much chemistry together, if he plays with SHOOTERS and HIGH talents that use screens on an off the ball, with ball movement, and solid defenders, he surely could help a team, as his ability to facilitate/penetrate could be used if he regains NBA shape that he wasn't in last season along with too many weak defenders with players such as Nick Young that are chuckers, while lacking ball movement
Last season, he lost confidence and without the FANS cheering for him like they once did, he was able to fully feed of that energy and the way he plays would be ideal as a backup with 3 and D talents, possibly a stretch 4 that can defend, and an ATHLETIC Center such as DeANdre JOrdan *with Shved or Lin, who made Tyson CHandler look like a dominant force in many games but Jordan is 10x better than Jordan and more athletic/stronger/younger but doesn't get that chance with Blake Griffen/CP3, and even Reddick/Jamal Crawford and sometimes Matt Barnes being used as scoring threats before Jordan
Last season,
Ed Davis *as a Tristan Thompson type roll with Tyson Chandler* and Boozer *ability to hid the mid range and score in deep post position vs backups*
IF Julias Randle didn't get hurt, he would have been a good fit with Lin with a MID RANGE and POST game, with solid rebounding instincts as well
Ed Davis and Wesley Johnson are 2 solid players IMO, if they sign to cap friendly deals
Edoh would be an under radar player at PF/C for vet min as well who I thought was a solid player on the Bucks/GS a couple years back before he was traded
NO VETS like Affalo, not worth it as he approaches 30 and struggled much last year* or David West *unless he is signing for about MLE money or less*
A vet that could play STARTER minutes holds much more weight than one that stays on the bench
That is why I liked Draymond Green, as he plays as a 10year vet though only 3 seasons as a NBA pro but a 4year college player with funamentals that many lack with 1 and dones, with work ethic, high IQ, and great defensive skills to defend 5 positions, and can REBOUND and PUSH THE TEMPO hismelf as a point forward, as well as set GREAT SCREENS for PnR's
Just like at KG when he was in his prime and when he was on The Net's, it is a HUGE difference in production, who helped anchor the DEFENSE and motivated all of his team mates but they already had solid defensive talent with rebounders as well in their prime, as well as Tom Thibs as the lead assistant and Doc Rivers as a Head Coach
As he got older even on Boston, Rhondo and Jeff Green were not the same as it was no longer KG's or Paul Pierce's team
Vets for the Vet min, and Leadership
Andre Miller *especially if we are looking to develop a PG that has the size and ability to POST UP and facilitate, maybe Grant
Delfino *under the radar* and was injured the past couple seasons but could be a Dev coach as well, especially if we are getting some more Euro's on our roster with Twolves rights to that stretch 4/SF
Caron Butler *played for The Lakers and was part of the trade for Shaq, so he may have some understanding of The Triangle, though not sure if he played for Phil Jackson but played for Kurt Rambis
Boozer solid rebounder with a VERY STRONG MID RANGE SHOT and COULD POST UP when he was young, and was an average defender till he hit his 30's and loss physical abilities as he is undersized
Richard Jefferson STILL HAS ATHELTICSM and could DUNK
KMART
Paul Pierce *2year deal for 5m or so* I am not fond of him but it seems like Phil Jackson wants veterans to help guide our youth but still able to play more than the VET MIN players
Jermaine Oneil, though would love him more if we can acquire Bobby Portis
Tyler Hansborough HUSTLE/WORK ETHIC/TOUGHNESS
Glen Baby Davis
Development coaches, assistant coaches
========================================
Andrew Bynum/Rick Fox
Brian Shaw
Tyrone Lue, probably would HURT CLEVELAND's coaching and Blatt/Lebron's relationship, possibly making Lebron reconsider staying in Cleveland as it wouldn't be the first time he left...
Rasheed Wallace for KP, maybe even AK47
Robert Horry
Sam Cassell
Jason Kapono/Paxson/BJ armstrong as a SHOOTING coach who played for Phil Jackson as well
Ron Harper
Though Billups could be an ideal PG mentor and shooting coach, that was a SOLID RESPECTABLE leader in his prime that knows how to POST up, facilitate, control TEMPO, solid defender for PG/SG with strength and IQ, while balancing his ability to shoot and looking to facilitate very well
Pippen/Kukoc
Battier/James Posey as defensive coach for SG/SF and SF's playing PF
Horace Grant/Cartright
HAVE TO VALUE and PAY different types of Trainers especially ones with proven track records with TOP TIER TALNTES especially with some talents that are similar to the bodies/physical abilites/style we want to our young guys to develop to, some with Guards, Forwards, and BIGS
As ones as trainers for the GYM and how/what to work with, especially for someone like KP who we do not want to lose mobility/strength but to do body weight trainer with more REPS and NOT the other way around
Prventive injury/physical thereapy/accupuncture trainers and Nutrionist
As well as Anthony Davis's trainer for KP and other PROVEN trainers, like the one that works with both Steph Curry and CP3, a reason why both players are GREAT SHOOTERS as they work on this first by simulating a NBA game by getting fatigued and tired before they shoot, that is why they are capable of hitting shots towards the end of games, despite playing 40minutes + while many other talents are unable to do so when they lose their legs/get fatigued and tired
