I was interested in this guy and went to look at his stats.... and then wondered why he didn't get a lick of playing time during playoffs this past post season. Series was against GSW but still

cuz GSW plays small ball

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

good point but with that frenetic pace, Ajinca couldnt hold up. Overall, Ajinca is a nice ROLE player. no more no less. i wish we got him but no big deally

I see a real jewel on the rise here--a huge, skilled big man capable of taking the next step with increased usage.. Up to me, he would've been the starting C. Also, I don't see some plodder here--why couldn't he have played against the Warriors and contributed? N.O. mgmt. apparently felt he could've which may explain one of the reasons why they canned Monty and why they moved quickly to resign Alexis...How did Mozgov look against them in the Finals? Dude definitely had an impact in those games--one of the reasons they were in that series after being down Love and Irving. Is Mozgov faster and more skilled than Ajinca? I don't see it...And another thing -- now we're hearing we plan to meet with Robin Lopez or excuse me, Kendrick Perkins?!? Huh? If you're a GM and you need a C and good viable bigs in general, how do you have Robin Lopez/Kendrick Perkins ahead of Alexis Ajinca on your list?? Ajinca's a much better talent than both of those guys.. I'm disappointed here a little bit fellas--I wish Phil would've given serious consideration to Ajinca. I think he could've done very well here in the triangle. Oh well..

Agreed, signing Ajincia and targeting him right away with UFA's in cost friendly contracts like Koufus/Lavoy Allen or Biyombo/Serephin/Joel Freeland with some other talents with the ability to compete for a STARTING JOB in New York rather than overpaying for Lopez would have been ideal
Rather than Affalo and Derrick Williams, I would rather have Aminu and Wesley Johnson, and could target Derrick Williams with the room exemption, vet min, or at least less money than 5m who is unlikely to get offers above 3m

Koufus, 26years of age, was a solid player in Denver where he started a couple years back
Though being payed for backup money, they would play much more here and would help their future contracts, especially for Koufos/Ajincia/Lavoy Allen/Biyombo/Serephin/Freeland, getting the time to develop this season with MORE PT
While next years Center includes Whiteside, Pau Gasol, Noah, AL Horford, and Roy Hibbert

Especially if Whiteside is legit for a possible MAX offer, at about 21m, next summer, would give us 2 options in Whiteside/KP that compliment each other, FIT in the Triangle, and on DEFENSE/REBOUNDS
We would see if KP and Whiteside would be great fits together this upcoming season and develop a good relationship with Whiteside's agent
