We need an athlete who can penetrate with physicality and bring the same on the d. That Lithuanian c looks better than the Spanish c from my point of view. Powell would've made a great deal of sense for this team on the 2 nd unit as a lock down perimeter defender and elite g finisher with a power body. That's the type of defender we needed.

I think we took Hernangomez as a way of showing Porzingis we are committed to him and as a way of easing his transition to the team. Sort of wish we could've nabbed another second rounder or two, but oh well.

The only player i would of took over Hernangomez would of been Christmas who was drafted right after him but we needed size so i'm happy with the big man.

Something like lee looney and #1s in 2018and 2020. Lee is younger than west and can do just as much in the triangle

+1

If the goal is building for the future, Id rather wait a season if necessary to go after the best FAs. Porzingis and Grant are still question marks as far as the rest of the league is concerned. If they show that they are for real, it should help with recruiting.

This Wont Work Because we need a Shooting Guard or Point Guard who can penetrate and get others open shots..Green and Calderon cant do that ...so nah Not going to Work well...We need Ellis

Not sure if Lee has a 15% trade kicker but he is a veteran expiring, can easily be a double double, even with limitted minutes on a contending team
His contract is about 15m, if he has a kicker, it would be about 1st rounder for every 6m or 5m without, I think 2 1st rounders would do it for a team, he is NOT McGee
Speights/Bogut/Lee are all expendable IMO, though they would need at least one of those bodies, with Speights being the "3rd Splash brother" but Bogut the better DEFENDER but if Ezili/Kuzmic continue to improve, they will have to try to save money as Draymond Green will get a HUGE OFFER unless he takes a discount, along with Harrison Barnes the following year that they probably would rather extend earlier at a discount
Curry will get a MAX in a couple more years as well, along with raises for McAdoo/Justin Holiday/Speights?? Ezili??
Their strength is in numbers, needing it to get past a 82 game season in order to have a healthy roster for play offs
Not sure if Barbosa will get a raise as well as he was very important for them this past year, they will have the taxpayers MLE or could go a different direction though he was a great "fit" for them

I think Festiz Ezili and the Euro Center, Ognjen Kuzmic, would be ready to contribute along with James McaDoo at Center, with ANY 1 of the above

So you seriously think GS would get rid of Lee for 3 1st rounders?
Even if they do, why should they trade him to us?
I do not see them parting more than 2 1st rounders even if they are LATE 1st rounders, it isn't like Lee cannot play, he just took a step back
They have said they would not part with 2 1st rounders and I guess that is why they have no takers yet

He isn't DEAD weight like Gereld Wallace

While I would like Lee and think he would be able to play a Lamor Odom role, fitting in with the Triangle, we just might have to wait till free agency for his return
Hard to say at what price with the rise of the cap as well but would guess at least 5m, possibly more with the rise of the cap and the MLE being towards 8m-9m in one year
Unless he joins a team, gets PT, and is unable to contribute, then his value/market could drop signifigantly...

After restoring a RING after so many years, I think GS would rather wait till the trade deadline, as Lee's salary will be less and cheaper to get rid off, while not having to pay taxes, probably just use the 3m in trades + 1 1st rounder....

And if Lee proves he provides much help, maybe even try to move Bogut instead if there are takers for a Center that could block shots, rebound, and pass for a Center
Especially if DJ signs with another team, Clippers would need a Center and it would make sense for both teams though Clippers would be their contender

David West has a $12.6m player option. He wasn't worth that last season and, at his age, he'll probably be worth less this season. I don't get why we'd pay him that much or more and, if he didn't know he could get that much from us, why he wouldn't exercise his option and stay put.

I'm not sure what the plan is. Porzingis needs 20 minutes from the 4-5 that's plan a to me.

there are 96 total minutes to be had between the 4 and the 5. give KP 20 and we still have 76 minutes to give out and nobody in the front court. for whatever reason Phil seems content playing Melo most of the time at the 3.

I am ok with those 3 pickups if they happen. Its not flashy but those 3 could all be starters now, and in the case of West he is at the point in his career where sharing the PF for 20+ min a night with KP for the next few years would be beneficial to both of them. Carroll would likely be a better player than green but he would probably want more money than green as well.
The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away
