Man so many scouts have vouched for his pedigree as a top prospect. It's not really an issue IMO. What matters is getting him the proper nutrition and conditioning program to build up his body. He doesn't have to get massive. He may never get really thick. He needs functional strength like a KG or Durant. Slim guys who have NBA level fitness.

Also, the poster Ted Nelson on KB posted that he was shooting 37% from three until the last 7 games of the year when he hit a slump.

Thank you. Makes me feel a little better because his stats are solid. Would still have preferred almost anyone else drafted in the top 12.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

So it sounds like he went entirely by the eyeball test. I hope with FA decisions and trades, he takes a more balanced eyeball-metrics approach.

"Right now I'm a stretch 4, [but] I can step inside," Porzingis said after being introduced to the New York media on Friday. "I don't just want to be a 7-1 guy who's only 3-point shooting. So right now I see myself as a 4-man. For the future, obviously when I get stronger and I will get stronger ... I will be able to guard 5s and play the 5 position."

exactly, this guy has confidence but not arrogance, with the WILLINGNESS and WORK ETHIC to want to get better
He knows his strengths and weakness's, with the ability to take constructive critisism, while working on ALL AREA'S of his game with a HIGH IQ, WANTING TO BE IN NYC, wanting to accept that challenge
WANTING TO TURN BOOS TO CHEERS and KNOWS THE WORK AHEAD OF HIM, he knows what and who he has to alter his game in to for the higher % shot
Not settling for just 3pters but fully utilizing his quickness/mobility/length/ability to spread the floor YET NOT RELYING on just that, WANTING TO GET IN THE PAINT

As a 19year old KID, that is VERY MATURE, coming from a BASKETBALL FAMILY, playing in a MAN's LEAGUE at an early age, with competition stronger than the competition in college, he has been working on his game and withdrew from the draft last season, while preparing his game for the NBA, along with scouting who he wants to model his game after
A once in every decade that a 19year old that has this maturity with the height, size, length, mobility, athleticism, SHOOTING ABILITY, AND WORK ETHIC/TOUGHNESS

Talents that he looks to mimic and has been compared with

KG
Pau Gasol
Dirk
AD

*my add ins*
Durant
Noel/Noah *the younger/healthy one when Rose was out*
AK47 on STEROIDS with RANGE

and NOT

Darko
AB
Kleiza
Radmonvic
Jan Vesley

In the triangle, in order to be the #1 option as a BIG/PF, in no specific order
HIGH BB IQ and FULLY UTILIZE ALL THREATS, ABLE TO READ DEFENSES and HOW TO EXPLOIT the MISMATCH or the Advantage

OFFENSE
=========

1- you need to be able to hit the mid range

2- SCORE 1v1 in the POST and FACILITATE, PASS OUT OF THE DOUBLE TEAMS/DRAW DOUBLE TEAMS, at 7-2, and 19 with the chance to still grow, if a BIG challenge his shot, he pulls a rebounder/shot blocker for his team mates to penetrate, he also has a good handle with great mobility to penetrate and finish OVER CONTACT *will be better as he gets stronger*

3- draw fouls/hit FT's

4- HIGH POST, MID POST, 3pt line, and with the TRIANGLE BEING VERSATILE, and someone must be OPEN, when the team fully executes the system effectively/efficiently, it will be VERY HARD TO STOP
His versatility fits in the TRIANGLE, able to play any spot, creating diversions

5- GREAT PnR talent, ISO, or SPREAD THE FLOOR, is very talented and could beat you in multiple ways,

6- CAN NOT BE DEFENDED if he wants to shoot the 3pt shot at his height size, could get his shot OFF WHENEVER he wants but NOT SETTLING FOR JUST THAT LIKE AB to set up his game

7- HIGH IQ/Fundamentals, MAKING GOOD CUTS and PASSING OVER HIS man with his height...

With insane length, mobility, size/height, *strength is the only weakness's but in a couple of years and his work ETHIC/WILLINGNESS to get better, he will get there*
At PF, he would give us possibly 2 SHOT BLOCKERS at PF and Center, when we acquire a Center, and the Center will get room to operate 1v1 whether for OFF REB or POST OPPORTUNITIES, as he pulls the other BIG OUT

Maybe we sign DeANdre Jordan, who wants the opportunity to get more touches and NOT just a rebounder/defender, we can offer him a 3year deal with player option for 4th year, while he is still capable of earning ANOTHER BIG CONTRACT at his age to a team that is willing to pay 30year OLDS, DJ HAS GREAT WORK ETHIC and would be a GREAT DEFENSIVE ANCHOR/FAN FAVORITE here

DEFENSE
===========

1- SHOT BLOCKING/STEALS/ABILITY TO REBOUND/DRIBBLE so could initiate a FAST BREAK and FINISH AT IT WITH GREAT SPEED/MOBILITY, especially for a BIG, VERY LIGHT ON HIS FEET
So the fast break opportunities would lead to easy baskets and he could leak or grab the rebound and push like GS did with all 5 of their STARTING 5 after the adjustments made after game 3

2- Will likely struggle a BIT early on 1v1 DEFENSE because of his strength, however, he is 19 and has GREAT WORK ETHIC, you cannot teach the other qualities he has, and he has physical abilities/leadership qualities/ willingness to accept critisism, and the hunger/toughness/fight/competitiveness/HIGH IQ to improving his game

3- Quality HELP DEFENDER that could CHEAT AND RECOVER IN TIME, ALSO COULD PLAY CENTER, when teams go small, like GS did with Draymond Green, and be able to defend him, help on switches and recover in time, contest 3pt shots *probably even better than Town, surely better than OK4

4- Does not have to jump to challenge shots, with his length/mobility/athleticism, he can jump straight up like MosGoV to challenge shots, and beat many players to their spot

5- VERY WILLING DEFENDER and DOING DIRTY WORK, a quality that will draw interest from free agents

Not getting OK4 could be a blessing in disguise as the league is changing
OK4 would not have been able to defend Green or the small ball lineups

Though I wouldn't mind getting him with KP hah
Could pair him up in multiple different types of talent, playing different styles of basketball or system *if we do decide to go another direction in the future*

We need ALL STAR's to be a LEGIT CONTENDER and his skills/size/physical abilities are VERY RARE
I like it that he doesn't have "PREMADONNA" attitude but has confidence at the same time with his WORK ETHIC, with THICK SKIN/TOUGHNESS, a quality needed to play in NYC/KNICKS
Knows what he has to work on, who to replicate his game after and who NOT to, not settling for being a 3pt shooter

Flip Saunder's was very intrigued by him and had they NOT won the #1 pick, he would be his preffered choice, comparing him to KG, and he wanted to trade for him
Maybe vet mins and bargain players will come to NYK for once, with many talents joining Lebron James the past 5 seasons/KG *Boston years*, and talents signing for UNDER THEIR MARKET VALUE if he reaches anything close to his ceiling

Phil Jackson is setting us up for life AFTER his contract is up and he is doing what no man has been able to convince Dolan what to do
REBUILD FROM THE BOTTOM UP

Perfect TIMING, with the RISE OF THE CAP in a season, we have the ability to surround him with TOP TIER ALL STARS, especially if can intrigue his peers, the next 2 summers we have the ability to SIGN TOP TIER TALENTS while he is on his rookie scaled salary, and is coming over this season, instead of waiting till the cap goes up next season, to make more money

In 2017, next summer, it could be the best FA class of ALL TIME or EVER in my ENTIRE LIFE, WITH DURANT/WHITESIDE/LEBRON/PAU Gasol/Horford/Noah and Westbrook and some others will be UFA's the year after....

Our management MUST surround him with the development coaches/trainers/work out regime with players that FIT his skill set/size that have proven successfull

http://www.complex.com/sports/2014/12/the-trainers-behind-the-nba-most-improved-players/carlos-daniel

IN THE LINK PROVIDED ABOVE, NBA TRAINERS for Bradly Beal, John Wall, Kyle Lowry, and some others that we should consider for Grant
Cause obviously our development staff/trainer need an upgrade, especially since we are in full rebuilding or at least have invested in some high ceiling prospects

CARLOS DANIEL

Trainer for: New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis

As the Director of Athletic Performance for the Pelicans, Daniel’s job is to make sure that every single New Orleans player is prepared for the rigors of an NBA season. But this past summer, Daniel’s main emphasis was working with the 21-year-old Davis during his time with Team USA. He traveled to Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, and even Europe to work one-on-one with Davis in order to make sure that he was getting stronger in the post.

“He knows that getting strong is a vital component and he’s been dedicated to it,” Daniel said back in July.

So far, that strength has been on full display during the NBA season. Davis is averaging more than 24 points and 10 rebounds per game for New Orleans and has been a handful for opposing big men, which is something that wasn’t necessarily the case as recently as a year ago.

Development Coach with HIGH SALARY, RASHEED WALLACE/Robert Horry

Drew Hanlen

Trainer for: Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal

Although Beal—who is now in his third year in the NBA—isn’t scoring as many points this season as he did last, he is shooting the ball much better than he has in the past. During his rookie season in the league, he shot about 41 percent from the field and 39 percent from beyond the three-point line. But since then, he has put in a ton of work with his trainer Hanlen—a former Belmont University star who has been working with Beal since his high school days—to improve. This year he’s shooting the ball better than ever; his shooting percentages have risen to 45 percent from the field and 48 percent from three-point distance. As a result, he’s become a more efficient player who doesn’t necessarily need to take as many shots in order to help the Wizards win.

“Brad has wanted to be great for a long time,” Hanlen said earlier this year. “He had a special work ethic as a high school player that is still carrying him today.
