Sorry, not trying to be a hater but I called it--I called it that the Porzingis pick would get booed loudly and that's exactly what happened. Called it that Melo would be a dick about the pick too and he was. SMH man. I mean who did he want, WCS? And he didn't even like the Jerian Grant pick too? Is that right? WOW...F him. I still can't believe we resigned him to be the centerpiece here. Dude should've been traded to the highest bidder during when he hit FA. I agree with those saying Dolan intervened and ordered Phil to resign him. Phil didn't want any part of this guy, man. Can't wait until he either breaks down altogether or begins to decline rapidly a year or two from now and we're suck holding the bag on his albatross contract...This guy is not a team player at all. Feel bad for Kristaps man -- dude's already starting behind the eight ball and he didn't even lace 'em up yet. Joke..

If you read what they are saying Melo said it reads not like Melo talking but SAS!!! Using the words "Hoodwinked" and "betrayed" is almost exactly the words that SAS used yesterday in his tirades. This is all about SAS stirring up trouble.

He has a right to an initial reaction. His alledged reaction is a question about the near future. He is part of that answer. Let's see if he can help figure it out.

It's Anthony that has the biological clock ticking. He smells basketball mortality perhaps for the first time. And hey, most players don't win chips, we are in the Eastern Conference with another all-time great blocking our path, and he's already setting himself up for a good career after hoops. So we'll see what he wants to do as a basketball player going forward.

Edited because this could very well be a bunch of bull****.

yea this.. I mean these are athletes, not NSA employees. As a player or a coach I have no problem with a guy being pissed about a trade or draft pick, especially knowing 1) his buddy was traded or 2) his buddy wanst picked but was considered.

Its how he acts.

What happens when we find out Melo had KP over for dinner to welcome him to NY and the Knicks. Do we get 8 threads about that?

This is a non issue (for now)

I don't think most fans, at least the ones who post here, ever thought Melo was a leader. Melo needs a leader. He had his best seasons with Chauncey and Kidd leading the team.

If we keep Melo, this is why I'd be ok bringing in David West to provide some leadership.

I wonder if Melo realizes what a disservice he just did to the Knicks FA efforts.

When the grass is cut the snakes will show, etc

Carmelo Anthony feels “completely hoodwinked and betrayed by Phil Jackson’’ after the Knicks traded Tim Hardaway Jr. and selected European project Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth pick of the draft, according to a radio report by ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

The report cited sources close to Anthony, who is currently in Las Vegas for his wife La La’s birthday.

“All they said was he’s furious, he’s livid, he feels completely hoodwinked and betrayed by Phil Jackson,’’ Smith said. “He feels like he was lied to and sold a bill of goods. He’s willing to concede he wanted his money, but he didn’t know it would be like this and this bad. He can’t believe the second season for Phil Jackson he has to look forward to being worse than last season was.”

And don't get me started on SAS either. Man is that dude wacked out, ignorant and unprofessional. Gimmie a ****ing break with his ridiculous rants already. It's not gonna take Zinger "3-5 years" to start contributing. He's got enough positives where he should be able to contribute right away in a 20 min a night role. I bet, provided he sees enough court time, that he's one of the more productive rookies picked in the 1st round. I used to listen to SAS when he had his radio show a few years ago getting ready to go to work every day. I listened because it was basketball-related (much more than Kay or Francesca) and because I liked Brandon Tierney. I definitely didn't listen for SAS. Dude's a joke.. Calm down with the going for nothing but shock value all the time, jerkoff! Such a tired act....Amazing how uninformed he is considering the position he's in covering the NBA...WOW. If Melo listens to everything this dude has to say, he should have his head examined.

Melo is not smart. I am guessing his IQ is low. That is why he cannot adapt his game to what is needed game by game or whatever. He can't do it.

Secretly I bet Phil is hoping that he asks for a trade. More $$ and more picks. Win Win.

Can he score? Yes. Is he great at it? Yes. Is he capapble of doing what it takes to win? Uhhhhhhh????

This is all SAS. Melo wouldn't just tell people stuff like this. SAS called Melo and like a Devil was probably working him up and making him angry enough to say he was unhappy. I wouldn't put it past SAS to do that. He's not a good guy. You can tell it was SAS paraphrasing what Melo supposedly said, cuz he used words that match exactly what he said in his tirades. He's not an impartial reporter. SAS in interjecting his personal feelings into this and causing trouble.

I think it's a fairly safe bet SAS talked to Melo last night. Or some of Melo's people. I think they're trying to pressure Phil in FA or start the movement for MeloDrama3: the tradening.

SAS is not a good guy. He was going off and I know he's the one who got in Melo's ear and instigated this. It just sounds too much like SAS. Not that Melo isn't also wrong but I feel SAS was the one who started this crap. Melo doesn't have to complain. He can just ask to be traded. It's in his power to do that. He has the No Trade Clause.

I mean, maybe, but who cares? Melo either needs to get with the program or help the Knicks find a trading partner.

Anthony does not express his feelings without knowing the consequences, and Smith would not put something out there without some kind of agreement with Anthony.

You are a good guy, really- but you have to see things as they are, not how you want them to be.

I really hope that there is some rational excuse for this stupidity, but I don't think Isola puts this story out without knowing its validity, and I would expect he has some independent way for proving it, if push comes to shove.

Yea, but it's hearsay devoid of context. What if Melo was drunk when he said it? Then I need another report to find out what kind of drunk he is. In vino veritas or ****-talker? Life of the party or the girl who cries outside?

Isola and his paper has a NYC backpage scoop and profit motivation here, let's not pretend he has the same standards as the Washington bureau here.

Frank Isola is actually pretty tight with Melo. This may have been Frank getting news direct from Melo. Or more likely from Timmay. Timmy maybe couldn't help himself from jacking up one last shot before walking out the door. Think about it - how many "Knicks sources" have access to Timmay's phone? Tim was at a Knicks sponsored draft event at Clyde's restaurant last night. Except the Knicks only advertised Galloway would be there.

I'm just going by what the Post had written:

A trade where we can get a nice player in return and a 2016 1st rounder would be very nice

Isola is a muckraker. I can't believe anything he says about the Knicks anymore. He has a grudge.

This. Nothing to see here. Isola writes it and it becomes a national story. Maybe tomorrow Herring can botch a story and say Melo is getting a lump sum of 80 mil from his contract.

Like nix pointed out, he's echoing Stephen A. So he's not even racking the mud so much as carrying it. But I don't trust either of them. They aren't journalists in the traditional take. Seems like that's what the online guys do. Papers, TV & radio give you the storylines!

It may have come from Tim and he may have shared what was a private conversation between teammates after a trade. There isn't a single player on the team from two years ago other than Melo. It makes sense that he might complain to his friend. Is there someone here that likes everything at their job? Or enjoys having everyone that they worked with switched out and new people brought in?

Two guys that like to stir things up and be provocative have created a situation out of a non situation.
