Thanasis is a good defensive wing. Overall his picks tend to have some defensive capability. Lance Thomas and Amundson were defensive reserves.
We all know that once Phil cleaned house that this team was on a different path. Phil said he wanted a future component and a present component so he did tell us this is what he was gonna do.
Phil conceded last night in an interview that Zinger will have a problem defensively in the NBA..Dude is not a great athlete, he barely jumps...He is a rim protector like Stein??..A little too much laughing gas today??
not what he said at all. He said as a young player coming into the league he's going to struggle on defense. He didnt concede anything. The REASON they took him is he's an "eye opening athlete"
Why arent you quoting THAT from Phil? Oh yea.. it doesnt fit your anti-Phil agenda.
My anti-Phil agenda?..Aren't u confused as me regarding a plan?
u already asked and answered this question. u are on tilt but i will try to break it down for u:
1) jackson is building a team through the draft for life beyond $melo, and he will acquire free agents between the ages of 25-29 to try to make the knicks respectable while $melo is here, and who may also be here after $melo is given his well-deserved heave-ho.
2) jackson was forced by dolan to sign $melo as part of the deal to have a chance at rebuilding the knicks properly.
here's a good quetion for u to chew on: of the two, who do you think loves the knicks more, jackson or dolan?
U lost me when u said Jackson was forced by Dolan..If you want to discuss..Lets keep it real and be honest..Don't deflect the thugs u don't agree with to Doaln..Be a man and man up..Own it..
you don't believe that its possible that Phil was not given a choice in regards to signing melo?
No..He said many times that Dolan gave him the choice not to resign Melo..Question is why don't you believe him??
you believe everything that phil says? Is it possible that phil was just saying that because he had to?
what should he have said? That it was not what he wanted and that the idiot owner forced him?
C'mon.

Jackson said Sunday that he spoke to Dolan about having full autonomy to make basketball decisions before he accepted the job as Knicks president."I was point blank and honest with him and said, 'If I walk into your office or call you up on the telephone and tell you that I want to trade X player who's an All-Star or Y player who's the fans' favorite, if I think it's the right move, I want you to feel confident that I can do this, will you give me the liberty to do this?' And he said yes, and that's really the key," Jackson said while speaking at The New Yorker Festival in Manhattan.
Jackson's authority extended to the team's decision to re-sign Carmelo Anthony, according to the team president. Dolan told Jackson before he took the job in March that if Jackson didn't feel signing Anthony was the "right direction to go, then you don't have to sign him."

"I had that liberty to make that choice and needed to have that to come and do the job the right way," said Jackson, who inked a five-year, $60 million deal to run the Knicks.
Jackson ultimately re-signed Anthony to a five-year, $124 million contract.
"He has just touched the surface of his greatness, and I think we have a guy that has a lot more to offer," Jackson said of the 30-year-old Anthony.
