Yeah that was strange! The only thing in sports he really knows is NBA and he's not working? He's a clown anyway. I thought he was way overboard tonight. He didn't even address the Jerian Grant pick. He based it all on not taking Mudiay, Winslow or WCS. Fine but he can't say that this kid has no talent. He only THINKS that those other 3 are gonna be better than Kris. We don't know that for sure on draft night. Who can say how it will look down the line?

Phil has stated over an over that he wants a future and present component to the team. This isn't just about one winning season. He wants to create a franchise with prolonged success. He said from day one that he wanted to establish something like what the Spurs have. I honestly don't know why this is so hard for people to grasp. When I created the "CLARITY" thread this is one of the reasons I did it. To stop the misunderstandings about what Phil as actually trying to do.

Spurs.....Spurs.... wtf about the knicks make you think they can pull a spurs?

Do we have a big 3? Nope....

Are we a winning franchise? Nope......

Do we have enough depth to be able to plug players in and win? Nope.....

Are we a playoff team like the 1999 spurs that through injury and a bad season got the star they needed to win? Nope.....

If Phil wants to build a dynasty Trade Melo for Picks and young guys. That of course will be hard because Melo has a no trade Clause.

The only way this pick makes sense is Phil wants a guy to play besides Monroe now and in the future because I guess the plan is to make the knicks Monroe's team after Melo.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

All you've done tonight is whine like a little baby. If you're done with the Knicks then good. Leave. We don't want you. In the meantime, I'll support my GM, because he made some very big strides in the organization this evening. Add to all of that we STILL got our lead guard for the future.

Whine ?

Can we give it more than a few hours after the draft before we say that this team can't have success building a winning franchise? We're really at the very beginning of the process. Now that the draft is over we can look at UDFA's and then the FA market. There's a lot more in store. I wouldn't underestimate Phil and his staff. That's a lot of Basketball Knowledge based on winning.

Don't really care honestly man. There's two paths in life, love and hate. And if you want to hate that's your choice. I'll support my guys, and trust in the man that's won 11 championships. Not some guys who watched YouTube videos on Internet forums.

Listen,
I dont like Draft pick,
I aint No hate route I got family 3 kids 1 biggie going off to West Coast University, Love my spouse & all family
But I dont insult those whom like it ! Someone is right Or wrong down the road but whom cares now ? no one
Everyone in forum deserves an opinion agree to agree Or agree to disagree without getting personal.

I support my team same as next batter up here.
If a person is not a fan of team Dont criticize it, I Am fan of my Knicks
so my opinions is solely mines, No need to be bent out of shape ..We're lots of Knicks fans in here 24x7

We can even have heated disagreements without the insults.

Hate ? Nah get rid of that.

I worked in past for USA Military govt projects D.O.D much too long in this country to fight over any sports topics.
Seen much more important than this topic being cited to squirm about but I ain't going be insulted Nor send insults.
Ya' know what ? when I'm wrong aint afraid to say Nor offer apology.

If I dont like something about my team as long I gotta right to speak one's mind which what Andrew and Martin moderators setup here.
Post topics do OR dont have to be addressed .. just move onward

If one dont like what Poster(s) saying move on.. without insults of integrity

He in the sports entertainment industry.

You expect him to be loud.

That's just his schtick- sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't- he's just loud.

Sometimes when you have nothing special to say, if you raise your voice or use a lot of inflection you can attract more attention that your words actually deserve. He's a cartoon figure or caricature, full of sound and fury... and frequently signifying nothing.

Pay no mind to that man behind the loud mouth curtain.

I usually appreciate him but I really liked David Aldridge. Wish both guys worked for espn still. Not sure why Stephen A. is on vacation during the biggest week in the nba for talk show speculating (draft, free agency). Espn doesn't have Mel Kiper go on vacation for the draft.

More quotes for fueling a player's desire to succeed.

Lot of guys in this draft will have chips on their shoulders- OK4, Winslow, maybe Stein, who has a permanent chip, and Mudiay, who only practiced for the first 4 teams, I think.

Best revenge is to play well and then see them squirm when they have to admit they were wrong.

Go to the first pages of the two stickied draft pages and look at the crap most of us were saying about who the best players were as the college season progressed, and then as we watched workouts. Pretty funny read.

Just heard that SAS was talking about Stein, Winslow, Stanley Johnson (he said Roberts)and one other unnamed player, who Phil should have picked.

Maybe you could have a discussion about Winslow, and maybe Stein, but Stanley Johnson?

His big thing seemed to be about taking someone NBA ready, and not the BPA, it would seem.

He wanted a more immediate change for the franchise.

He's a funny character- but I don't usually take him seriously.

I wasn't happy with the pick but I see what Phil is doing. He used the draft to get upside guys that are going to develop after Melo starts to decline and he is going to use FA to get the guys who can help now. Instead of setting the team up for a 3 year run he is gonna set up the team for possibly 13 years if this kid is as good as advertised.

Seriously who was there who was gonna be a true 2nd option now? Mudiya? Frank the tank? Stein? You are gonna have to wait for a year or two regardless. There was no Lebron available. Let FA play out before knocking the plan. If you can get Monroe-West and a 2 guard, and the Grant kid is as NBA ready as everyone thinks you have the makings of a solid team for now and the future.

I am not sure why some people are freaking out. I am actually happy with this draft. Everyone available to us at pick 4 was going to be a project no matter what. Phil chose the project with high risk but the highest reward out of everyone in the draft. We got a nice PG that people think might be comparable to Mudiay. The problem the Knicks has always had was looking for the quick fix. We are now thinking short term(In free agency) and long term(Kristaps Porzingis). SAS is going to freak out now and will never bring this day up if Kristaps Porzingis ends up being a good player.
