Now just dream for a second...

Imagine we get this pick for $3 million. Then, imagine Kaminsky or Willie Caulie-Stein fall to #18. Unlikely, but not impossible. That would be interesting.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't know. They are also rumored to be trying to trade Terrence Jones. I think they will want something for Jones but he makes around 4 mil next year.

We have a trade exception to cover that amount if they are just trying to dump salary.

18 is a nice slot in this draft.

And Jones is a good player. They would be giving up a lot to get that cap space.

Jones has 2 years left- This is not that terrible, is it??

2015-6 2016-7

$2,489,529 $3,532,642 (Qualifying offer)

Not at all, and we could use him. That doesn't make much sense. Highly doubt they'll just give it away

I would take Jones and pick 18 in a heartbeat. I would even take a bad contract to make this happen.

Ken Berger: As the Rockets look to clear room for free-agent pursuit of LaMarcus Aldridge or Kevin Love, No. 18 pick is available, sources say.

We don't have anything to trade them for the pick.

Future second rounders, the rights to Thanasis and the euro. They probably could do better but a lot of teams don't like dealing with or helping morey towards his goal

Don't need anything.

We got Shved with part of the Felton trade exception.

Give them some future second rounders and $3M cash. Throw in Thanasis if necessary.

Rockets Update: Contrary to scuttle out there, latest word is that the price is higher than advertised for either No. 18 or Terrence Jones

I think this tweet is old but it came up when I searched for the rockets on twitter

I wonder why Morey wouldn't just draft a euro and not bring him over.

How does that work cap-wise?

Player has to sign a contact before it counts against the cap. He could still play a year overseas without signing a contract, Houston would retain his rights once he comes over.

Not sure how it works if the player is adamant about coming over and the team won't offer a contract.

Just turned on SportsCenter to hear OKC (#14) looking to move out of the draft as well. Have to imagine that would be considerably more expensive.

Even a number 1? Thought there was a difference between a 1 & 2 as far as this type of thing.

Teams want to save on their tax expense. Also, Houston will want a future 1st and OKC the same.
