Because he lacks the allure of draft pick. So what if Bargs may actually be the better player...

Everybody loves new chicks....Even if the previous chick was better!

Hahahhhaha. This is the quote of the yr

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

If Phil has a mock draft where picks 4-10 are basically on the same level, then how can Kaminsky, Stein and whoever else in that range be a reach?

The NBA mock should be like this.

1 Towns
2 OK4
3 Russell
4 Mudiay
4 Zinger
4 Winsl
4 WCS
4 Kaminsk
4 Turner
4 Payne
4

Anybody with the same number, is not a reach! If we are picking 4th.....then we can pick anybody with the number 4. This is just an example to say, our pick is at the top of the next tier of players. Phil should look at the draft in groups. Our pick is probably the biggest group of talent in the entire draft. 4-10 range.

He has no upside and you can get a similar or better player without spending much in FA. That is an awful pick. Outside of a few supporters on this board nobody really has him that high (saw you added Payne, that was creative). When was the last time a player like him came into the league and made an impact to justify the high draft status?

The risk of finding a franchise player after the top 3 is very high.

The risk of finding a solid role player after the top 3 is very low.

It depends on Phil risk level.....After Russell and OK4 are gone, all you have is two groups.

High risk to high reward (Zinger, Mudiay, Mario, etc..)

Low risk to medium / high reward (Kaminsky, Stein, Winslow, etc..)

Will Phil pick from the low risk group.....Also called the low bust group. I think Winslow could be a star NBA player. Kaminsky could be a star as well.....They just don't fill one of our major needs that we've had for a long time since Patrick Ewing....(a defensive center). Winslow does at the SG/SF position. And he might be the BPA for what we need. But don't sleep on the high risk high reward group! How must risk is Phil willing to take? Or will he pick the player that Orlando and Kings want? It's pretty easy to get some intel on what other teams are looking to pick. Philly is making it known they want Russell....Either they want LA to draft Russell, so that OK4 falls to Philly? Or they really want Russell.....Philly is really sitting in a nice position, since they need a big and a small.

I agree with your whole assessment. I'm just not high on Kaminsky at all (I see him as high risk given the position people are discussing picking him at). I see him as more of a spread the floor 4 at the NBA level, I don't think he'll bring much else. I wasn't impressed when he faced other comparable talents. Too many similar players in the last few years haven't brought much to the NBA. That said, outside of Kaminsky, I would be comfortable with any of the other options.

ive liked him....for a LONG time in college. (even longer than BRIGGS). lol. soillid solid overall game. my only concerns are his strength but that should develop as he grows into his man suit. honestly, i dont think hes ideal at #4 but i wouldnt be overly disappointed.

honestly to me, once we didnt get the #1 or #2 pick, i knew we'd be settling. to me its towns, okafor and everyone else is a question mark

Don't let Briggs know you've liked him longer than him cause he doesn't think it's possible for anyone to of been liking him longer than him for some odd reason. LOL

Hopefully we will. I'd rather have Porzingis over Kaminsky at 4 but wouldn't be mad at the pick. I just don't think he's worth the 4th pick with guys like Porzingis, Mudiay, Winslow, Henzonja or even WCS on the board. Anyone that thinks Kaminsky will be what he was in college in the NBA is fooling themselves. He'll be a nice starting 4 with a good offensive game in the NBA but he absolutely will not be able to defend most of the other power forwards in the NBA. Now of course there's ways to make up for it some with help defense but if it's Monroe that's playing down low with him and Melo at the 3 then that will be a problem.
