I'm resurrecting this thread for all the people who argue that because D'Antoni had two-time MVP Nash running his show, he won't be successful without him.

Well, take a look at the perception of Nash v. Marbury at the time Phoenix signed Nash. Doesn't look like most people saw Nash as a potential two-time MVP.

Can we give D'Antoni some credit for maximizing talent?

You resurrected a embarrassing thread and then use this reasoning.......YIKES!

If for nothing else this just goes to show how any move that is made by this organization is homered by the multitudes only for it to come back and blow up in their face. People favored the Marbury trade, they favored the Crawford trade, they favored the Curry trade, they favored the Effries signing, they favored the Zach trade, they favored I SAY UGH the GM becoming I SAY UGH the coach, and now they favor the D'Antoni signing.

The only thing these have going for them is at some point the odds have to tilt in their favor but as for me and a select other we'll take our chances at finally being wrong for the first time in like half a decade.

I disagree. I think Marbury will be a bust. He will undermine every coach he works for. I predict that Isiah Thomas will become the GM and, ultimately, coach of the Knicks. He and Steph will become good buddies, and be involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit.

By the time it's all over, you'll be cursing Marbury.

You have been warned!

If all I cared about was being right or wrong, then yes, like you, I would go overboard with negativity in every situation possible. But since, I actually want to see good Knicks basketball one day, and I'm not some "fan" that changes teams multiple times in my lifetime (like you have admitted to us in the past), I guess I'm just gonna have to look dumb for being open-minded when it comes to the team's current course. I'm not championing the move as a 100% guaranteed franchise-saver. I'm just being open to the possibility that Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni could actually turn this thing around.

I've been wrong in the past. Believe it or not: I don't really care. You don't score any points with me for being right in the past. I don't remember you here when Islesfan started the anti-Isiah crusade. Your origin here was in some strange obsession with BlueSeats where you followed him over from RealGM. So yeah, Isles is one of a kind, don't hitch yourself to his wagon. He's his own person. You guys are not a team. HAHA!! Maybe you should change your name to FanIsles. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! [:D

Everyone has long moved on from the Blueseats thing. We've been past that for so long now. Heck Blue post very rarely I'd imagine it has a lot to do with how sucky we've been. All of us are our own agents here. Me and Isles are different. I've disagreed with just about everyone here on this forum with no real beefs overall. We get optimistic every yr only to be let down. I already said I'm more than ready to be proven wrong and am one of few who'll put everything out there and man up when I am. Which I was a couple times this yr about other discussions non-related to this team.

I transgressed from Realgm to here but have always held the same stance for a while now. A decade a fanfare counts for something but maybe not much in your book, which I'm cool with. Just like you don't care about the wrongs and rights I don't care how many yrs of service constitutes one a true fan. I think D'Antoni can possibly get us in the playoffs next yr but he doesn't give us the best chance to build a contender IMO. It's a matter of how satisfied you want to be as a fan I guess. Atlanta was fun to watch in the first round with Boston but they aren't built for contention and I see us more in the mold of their success possibly.

Maybe I'm the great copy cat, maybe you're next in line for me to Dupe. I'll start paying more attention to your steeze and then I'll have you down pat.

give it a rest already w/all this "I've been proven right so many times in the past" crap... nobody cares... eViL is just like any other fan of this team that wants to see this team succeed... people have been dead wrong on past trades & management choices & have been more than man enough to man up about it, so enough with your diatribes about being "one of the few" who has the cahones to do so... if u truly root for this team to succeed like you say you do, i don't get your obsession in bashing everyone's opinions who don't agree with your own like you've been doing ever since you got here... in the end everyone wants this team to do well bottomline... in your case you seem more interested in proving yourself right & others wrong rather than listening & trying to understand other people's points of view... but since you're the one with all the answers i don't see why you're wasting your time on a fan message board when you should be petitioning Dolan to hire you to fix this mess.

No if you look at how it goes someone will post "I don't see why some a busting their nuts over this hire or man some fans are never satisfied with anything" yada yada. TMS did you see me create any or resurrect a thread bashing fans who support the hire? Nope. I always respond to the subtle digs from those who actually disagree with them but to sum up what ypu said...

This is funny. Reminds me when I played NBA fantasy basketball, I made a trade that involved giving up Marbury for Nash as the main pieces. Half the league balked and complained about me giving up Marbury for Nash and said it was completely unfair that I only took back Nash.

When Nash won the MVP that year, they shut up.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Nobody here thought Nash would be a two-time MVP. Nobody thought he was particularly special. None of the geniuses of today were here saying "wait 'til you see Nash run in D'Antoni's system, he's gonna be perfect."

The point is, D'Antoni's system maximized Nash's effectiveness. We don't know if he can max out the effectiveness of any of our players. We have no idea. He's an innovative coach. He's dealt with bad mixes before and somehow managed to make it work out.

I'm not looking for playoffs next year. I'm looking for D'Antoni to improve the team enough that our players look better. I'm looking for Walsh to then pawn those players off to other teams for value in return. Our player's values are at an all time low. We've got a guy that gets value out of whatever pieces you give him. We've got a GM that has been on the good side of some pretty lopsided trades (J.O'Neal, Artest, B.Miller, J.Rose). It's not that bad a situation to be in.

The Suns actually traded Marbury for Nash. Who would you rather have? I believe they gave him about 11 mil per. Thats only 2 or 3 mil less than Starbury. I think we made out better.
Nash is a nice player but Marbury is superior in every aspect of the game

Bon Bon say ain't so! Thats okay because your still superior to everyone here in all aspects
Marbury or Nash????
